  • Hopefully of this happens it includes secondary characters like Simone Missick as Misty Knight.

I want to watch these ground level shows knowing that anyone could show up at anytime. Sometimes with our main character, other times off on their own adventures.

  • By the end of season 2 it looked like they might have figured things out and actually turn good by season 3. If course that didn't happen and I can't blame them after the terrible first season and the slightly better but still pretty bad but getting there second season.

That being said if they give things a soft reset I'm onboard with trying again.

  • Wow! What a finale.

I love a good bootstrap paradox.

Also the Watcher. Also Lonnie's fingers are going grey/Tombstone. Also Nico's amulet mother. Also Peter's dad is alive!

This is some of the best Marvel stuff out there right now, I'm glad that future seasons are already in development.

  • But for a "dun dun dunnnnn" that felt like a season finale, so I'm excited we get one more episode.

    Spider-Man's proper entrance was excellent.

Also confirmed something is up with Nico's amulet.

I'm still worried about Lonnie, but maybe they'll flip his standard background/story.

  • I'm not sure why Trump would think that, Musk explicitly told him they were doing fine.

Musk is in charge and Donny gets to shitpost on Twitter, is that not what he wanted?

    So like this?

    Or like this?

  • That's the exact same criticism I would give Brave New World. The Leader especially needed time for his plot to grow.

  • Basically, nothing happened in the movie.

We did finally address the elephant in the ocean. As an interconnected universe few films have referenced each other recently. (Except for Deadpool, which was all references.)

I was glad to see someone pick up the giant celestial in the ocean plotline in a major way.

  • Sabra, I think only referenced as Ruth during the film, is described as an ex-Black Widow and that's it. The actress, Shira Haas, is Israeli and has a slight accent, but that's it.

Her overall role in the film is minor, so if this is the character you're looking forward to I'd say watch it at home.

  • But you just said you didn't see the movie.

Your opinion is based on what?

  • For me it's the worst of the four films, but only slightly behind the first Cap film. I give a little leniency to the first Cap since it was early in the MCU, but at this point things should be figured out (obviously if they took a big swing with this film and missed, I'd give them credit, but this was a pretty safe film).

To be clear, I enjoyed the film, and I think they salvaged it from an even worse film, but it's got some issues.

  • It was definitely forced. I figured they would play it safe but thought they would just setup Thunderbolts.

  • Can't wait for all the posts saying "I just saw Brave New World, I don't get the hate!"

  • Overall I had fun, but I agree the film isn't without issues. Going into it knowing they had rewrites and reshoots, I think they put together a pretty good film. I think my biggest issue was the pacing, we just kept jumping around and didn't give things time to breathe.

I liked the story of the Leader wanting and planning revenge against Ross. It made sense that after being turned into a monster he'd want to turn Ross into a monster. I think that was a better story.

But it was a Captain America movie. His struggle was a lack of powers. I think the film should have had a monster vs power struggle, it would have tied the two plotlines together.

Also the post credits was a little on the nose. Also coming from The Leader it was weird. The audience doesn't really know this guy so it's just weird and ominous.

  • This is a weird article, but maybe it's meant for people who don't watch the show to get interested in it? Or maybe it's the classic "cartoons are for kids" misunderstanding?

Yes, being a superhero is hard. Yes, being a teenage superhero is extra hard. Yes, that is clearly the exact show they intended to make.

I'm reminded of a something Seth Rogan said when he worked on the most recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. That many stories about the TMNT forget that our heroes are TEENAGERS. They're young, they fuck up, they learn. As superheros the stakes are usually real, but it's still a character that is learning and growing.

Hell in one of the most recent episodes Spider-Man goes up against another hero. That hero even says something like, "You seem like a nice kid, trying to do the right thing, but you're on the wrong side."

I don't want a superhero story about a character that is perfect.

  • With great power, comes great respect. So close. It's the perfect line for an eventual villain. It's funny because it's clear Norman saw this failure with Otto, but I'm guessing he won't be able to see it in himself.

Also Otto got wrapped up nice and easy. A little surprised, curious to see what happens next.

  • Raimi Otto confirmed strongest Otto.

Also that fight was brutal. Spider-verse death vibes.

  • This was an amazing episode, top five for sure.

I wonder what Daredevil was looking for, because I'm not sure that Norman was lying. I expected him to lie to Peter so we the audience saw the heel turn. Daredevil tracing Otto's work back to OsCorp makes sense. Otto, having previously worked for OsCorp, stealing from them also makes sense.

But also what was the other intern doing on the top floor?

  • Sure but a 75% chance it isn't fatal and I can just sleep it off.

Plus I get death saves, right?

  • There don’t seem to be parallels to most of the communities I belonged to on Reddit.

One adjustment I had to make when I moved over to Lemmy is posting/commenting more. On Reddit most of the time your comment was buried. On Lemmy, a bunch of people are going to see it.

Not saying you need to be the only poster, but sometimes everyone just posting a bit more will reveal a community.
