Head of group responsible for Project 2025 threatens violence if people challenge their "revolution"
You’re right, we have absolutely nothing to fear. January 6th was 100% a peaceful protest, the Proud Boys only carry airsoft guns and plate carriers to look scary, and nobody, in the history of the country, has ever been lynched or attacked by mob violence.

Breathe the copium deep, you might feel better.
Ignore that the majority of military recruits come from rural, Republican zip codes. And that once they’re done, they return home to those areas.
Ignore that for the last 6 years plus, that military kit like body armor, night vision, and ammo has either been unavailable or on/off multi-month back order.
Ignore that there is a rising militia movement, and that numbers matter hugely, for both kinetic operations and more mundane goals like roadblocks or ‘holding territory’ to act within/from.
Ignore how cartels in Mexico have proven a very hard nut to crack, despite the Army/Police having training and the cartels exploiting the poor and desperate with very little training or gear.
But sure, Meal Team Six.

Tl; dr - a mix of value engineering and consumer preference. You wanna buy a $3k TV, or a $700 TV? How rock solid does your automatic sprinkler really need to be, compared to a satellite radio in the Sahel?
Per IPC industry standards, there’s three classes of electronic workmanship/quality control used:
- Class 1: It works, just about. Shoddy soldering is okay as long as connectivity is maintained. Passing a QA test may be as simple as “it runs when powered”. This is where most consumer grade stuff lives: calculators, watches, flashlights, etc.
- Class 2: Better built with generally more QA. Testing usually involves actually checking for function and different modes. Generally used only on commercial/civil government stuff like traffic lights, power controllers, heavy machinery - anywhere where reliability and longevity is worth paying more for.
- Class 3: Complete process control and 100% coverage function (and almost always) burn-in/stress test cycles. Top quality and cost, typically only used for military, aerospace, or medical - where stuff failing means people die.
If those kids could read, they’d be very confused right now
In the Venn diagram of “how fucked am I, personally, if Trump wins?”, they're not the first, second, or even fifth group that gets murdered in a ditch by Christo-fascist militias. So upsetting the status quo is only seen as risking/actually hurting themselves today, over a possibly in the future. Any talk of “divisiveness” is milquetoast dereliction, the MAGA fringe are not honest negotiators.
They’re not actual allies, they’re fair weather friends. For all the rhetoric of “resist” that was thrown about in early 2016, I saw a lot of pink pussy hats and very little black-block. Politics is still a game to them, the stakes aren’t real. Yet.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote in a statement that the case raises “difficult questions about the adequacy of current postconviction remedies to correct a conviction secured by what we now know was faulty science.”
At least Sotomayor had the decency to comment with a denial, but the rationale is confusing
the constitutional question raised by McCrory has not “percolated sufficiently in the lower courts.” But she urged state and federal lawmakers to establish paths for inmates to challenge “wrongful convictions that rest on repudiated forensic testimony.”
It’s a judicial issue, dealing with evidentiary criteria within courtrooms. How much more ‘in your lane’ does it have to be? If it was challenged to SCotUS on appeal, surely that has “percolated sufficiently in the lower courts.” no?
There few things more painful than seeing your boss struggle through something you know intimately, but because of ego and hierarchy you can’t hand-hold them in front of everyone. Until they finally stumble through and declare proudly “Hah, that was easy!”
…It was a hidden column Jeremy, not someone else’s VBA code without comments you have to repair.
Agreed. But it gets real hard really fast to convince people that Biden is the only real choice, when your argument becomes “Not Trump”.
If this was the first time this had happened, it could potentially be played off “He’s campaigning hard and worn down” “There was an unexpected interaction with his prescriptions that caused it”
The reporters sensed it instantly. Even though the 90-minute debate was only seconds old, they felt it was already over... He had not been warm. He had not been likable. He had not shown emotion. He had merely shown principle.
In 1988 Michael Dukakis had his campaign torpedoed by poor debate performance when asked ambushed with a hard gotcha question.
Another candidate might have survived that first question and answer. But not Dukakis. It devastated him because his coldness was already an issue.
And it is the same with Biden. The biggest anxiety of both his supporters and haters was demonstrated on national television. How do I defend that when arguing with people about who to vote for in the election?

Good bot
A sudden wall of text is jarring while reading comments, thank you to whoever made this change 👍
No, I want him to call their bluff and rise to the challenge of meeting this constitutional crisis. The top court in the land has gone off the rails, and seemingly in collusion with a concerted effort to destroy the rule of law.
Blithely waiting until the election to “let the people defeat Trump” is dereliction. This ruling may be curated in deference for Trump, but unless it is challenged forcefully it will not just go away on January 7th 2024 if Trump loses again. Because when the question of “What are ‘official acts’ v ‘private acts’ then?” comes up, it’ll go right back to the SCotUS the Heritage Foundation and their interpretations.
This is an important clarification, you’re right. The yaw angle is minimal in ballistic flight, the level of keyholeing in the photo is rather dramatic. Though the 5.8x42mm is standard with a mild steel penetrator like M855, and the round was definitely built with cost as a major factor - maybe a bad lot of ammo?
He’s such a wonderful director, but him doing every voiceover and interview can be a little jarring. Films like Cave of Forgotten Dreams or The Killing Fields he was perfect for - his semi-cursed vocabulary and raspy voice lends well to wonder and sadness, but Grizzly Man..?
Maybe get an intern instead for the interview with the dead guy’s mother idk
5.56 (especially M855 for some reason) also exhibits ‘fleet yaw’ for the first couple of yards when fired. Factory new barrels and ammo doesn’t matter, iirc something about the rapid application of rotational force from rifling and projectile construction
I found a real easy approach to any undesired solicitation - zero contact, no reaction. Works on telemarketers, panhandlers, salespeople etc.
I have no shame about ghosting you publicly when the only thing you’re after is my money. If I’m in the home generator store, sure thing bro talk to me about my home power needs. If I’m walking out the supermarket and you slide around a booth to “help me keep my home safe during unrest” nah fam you can fuck yourself.
Cold open sales is parallel to pick-up “artists” imo. You want the transactional outcome for yourself, and my consent is the only thing you’re concerned about taking care of.
This copypasta is a cute summary, but it literally means nothing when over 40% of voters are dead locked for Biden and Trump each. The mission isn’t convincing the progressive wing that he’s got left bonafides, the mission is slice off as many undeclared and moderates - who just now really started paying attention… and saw that performance.
Trump looked like an asshole who dodged questions and was hiding the truth, but he had energy and was lucid
FYI: A disorderly conduct charge is just “contempt of cop”, unless it makes sense in parallel with the other charges like DUI or public nudity.
Multiple cops have openly admitted in person to me that they use it for compliance where force isn’t justified. “Move along or you’re about to become disorderly”.
I’ll link it again, because you missed it the first time. It’s wrongly attributed to Voltaire. Republican Thomas Massie of Kentucky just made that shit up to spin a conspiracy.

I had a former workplace like that, it was beautiful 🥹
We had a hot seat meeting where each department representative wasn’t even in the room until their individual staggered start time kicked in. One out, one in, cycling through each department until the meeting was over. They get to go back to their work and not be ‘meat’ in the room for fifteen minutes or more, we got focused reports from each as they filed in and out.
Sometimes I miss working for Germans, but “alles in Ordnung” cuts both ways - good luck breaking through the bureaucracy reporting chain and getting quick results
But sure, keep up the drive by memes and ignore everything I said
