The thing is that instances are not the individuals themselves but spaces for individuals. Sure the instances are driven by people but as they are publicly available and are tools for the communication of people and are susceptible to a different set of ethics; while you as an individual can just ignore people that think differently from you, restricting a tool/product from someone cause they think differently is and has to be seen as dumb and bad.
I know the federated Internet is the best thing to freedom, otherwise I would've bought the Twitter premium thing and dyed my hair blue to bully people all day in there. However, the fact that people join the libre Internet, not only hate freedom for other people but also want to isolate people that believe the individual should be free from the major part of the FREE Internet just seems stupid to me.
DDG was known as the best option for search engines but then they started talking of censoring stuff and also it has Microsoft trackers and other problems. Yes, it is still better than Google, Bing and Yandex when talking of privacy but with search engines like Qwant and specially SearX (SearXNG) there's no reason to use DDG over these.
Not really, I've almost never used Imgur but cause Lemmy isn't as "powerful" as Reddit, posting images directly into Lemmy leads to more work from the server running the instance and using a image hosting website cam help to reduce unnecessary traffic, then why not use the best option for it?
Needing to reinforce that you hate nazis everytime is pretty woke cause woke people are always like "oh, I hate nazis, and look, I'm so cool, I hate them". It's just so simplistic and I think I'm just tired of people repeating that word everytime they can.
You shouldn't use of violence no matter how much of an asshole someone is. If you use violence or threat to use it against someone not in self-defense way, you've already lost the battle.
