Could you tell me the model you got? I'm very interested in older laptops used in the enterprise, especially if they are a viable alternative to the older Thinkpad line

Would you happen to know what WhatsApp and Signal use? I believe FOSS apps from F-droid do not use Google's notification service

Thank you, I was simply surveying the market to see if there are any new laptops in this range to look at. Seems like that is not the case, so off to the used market I go.

Essentially, the apps which don't use Google FCM service are not affected (from what I understand?). I assume that there isn't a problem on the client-side and this exploit works purely because Google stores these notifications.

Thanks, yes, I'm looking at the T480 as an option. I was just curious about what I could find new in this range that fits my needs, and so far it seems like there isn't such a product.

This is very helpful! I would certainly be interested in something like that. How do you manage your encryption keys, and do you rotate them regularly? What does the process look like for you? The idea of changing metadata and hashing them is very appealing.

Without egress fees, glacier pricing is amazing. But I need to talk to someone who has actually restored from glacier to be able to consider it.
