  • hm. lets quickly downvote this because it's not what you want to hear

  • Shopliferts of the world, unite and take over

  • You clearly underestimate my capacity for being upset

  • absolutely insane person. that's not fine. you're not doing the right thing. i will stop interacting here since you're toxic. you mentioned something about "god". so go ahead read your bible. maybe there's hope for you there.

  • You're a looser for believing all that BS and for contributing to endless suffering and ecological collapse. Meat is amongst the top 3 contributors to climate change. It's in no way at all healthy (that's a lie spread by the industry, but go on believing that). If you cared at all about humans or the planet you live on, you'd know to stop.

But "I do what I want, nothing I do has consequences" is the type of shit that led all of us here.

  • "No reason to stop eating meat"?! There is literally no reason for eating it. You were lied to and made comfortable with the meat industry that ruins everything. Please watch anything read anything about animals, environment and the meat industry.

  • I have no clue. I get shown "trending communities" with zero posts. "Hot" might also be by engagement? Like how many clicks the posts have? Literally no clue

  • That's 100% understandable. I don't really "get" bars. So I don't go. I don't know what to do there. If I want to go out at night, I go to clubs, but they have some of the same issues with drunk people. Aside from that, I have hobbies to share with like-minded people. For example I go to an open couple dancing (Forró) event as often as I can.

  • No I totally understand. It wasn't meant as the best solution. Just a suggestion. I'm not a fan of bars myself tbh

  • Where does this increase come from of people who don't know/ don't want to know what politics are? What kind of privileged centrists join Lemmy these days?

  • Have you considered going to a bar and drinking whatever you want?

  • It might be one of the most frustrating aspects for me honestly. I feel like a shitty friend/partner because I literally forget almost everything. Somebody might tell me something and 2mins later I have no idea. Sometimes I "feel" the memory somewhere in my head but can't grasp it. Sometimes I really feel the empty space where it should be.

  • I don't even know if it makes that much of a difference on Lemmy. On Reddit, posts with many likes got pushed, but here... I don't know. You don't really collect likes here.

  • it is true for some. and that is what we call priviledge. if you're a straight white rich cis man, you CAN totally ignore political opinions of others, because you've "won" the socio-political lottery and will probably not be affected by extreme political opinions.

  • exactly. because politics if a part of how we act within society. even going to that activity is a political act. we meet at a concert, museum, exhibition, party...: we share some viewpoints about culture, music, art, society = politics.

  • they aren't tho. politics is a social interaction. "private politics" doesn't really exist. politics is a field of power dynamic. so people with more power will always be using this power to change to lives of the ones with less power. so how can politics be "their own business", when it literally changes lifes. political decisions and stances affect the lifes of others around you. the other part of that is: why SHOULD it even be a private matter?! how will you ever learn, change, enhance, develop... if you don't interact with others? and as we all know, every interaction in the social sphere is politics.

  • yes. normal people getting paid to post that.

  • this is a very naive and also true sentiment. but it only works in a certain boundary. no, i will not set "political differences" aside with fascists/racists. your viewpoint of the politics of existence IS an important part of your personality and says a lot about who you are as a person. So, getting the gist of your political views IS me "getting to know you as a person". because EVERYTHING we do is political.

  • it's interesting how many comments show that people like to read the headline and are content with that to form an opinion. literally the first paragraph says that it's not "THERE ARE NO POSTS" but it says that the "feed is swamped by a combination of perfectly curated photos and professionally created content." - the problem is that the paid content creators have become GOOD. so many of them really look like they are just opinions and casual mentions of movies/clothes/...things. viral marketing is really at a point where so many fronts that have been established have been broken down in the guise of "irony" or "sarcasm". "I'm only buying the Barbie merch ironically" etc.
