  • Budget title is definitely a stretch, but I think that was just poor word choice - the fact that those three games are less than the typical "AAA" price of $60 I think really proves their point that gamers by and large are choosing cheaper games — it's the industry trying to push premium priced games.

  • If your competitor is forced to raise prices 10%, why wouldn't you raise prices 8/9/10%?

    Anyone that's taken an AP history class knew tariffs don't work to help the economy — it's a tax on all of us and only raises all prices.

    You might not buy a €600 Xbox when the Switch is €250, but it looks more attractive when the Swich is €470

  • Tbf, there's also been a large online culture against those exact things in games - we live in a post GamerGate society, and there's a frighteningly large online presence of "antiwoke" people ready to brigade any game they perceive as "woke".

    I mean, all you have to do is watch any new game's discord, voice chat, or even Steam "curators" - there's even a dang spreadsheet
