Check settings. I had the same issue a while back. By default I think it hides posts you've visited or something.

People are disconnected from their own thoughts and feelings, reject them entirely, with zero empathy. "Life's easier that way". There is something very fundamental missing. I couldn't imagine living with zero empathy or insight or emotions, or awareness of my emotions. Those are the things that make life worth living ime. Appreciate suffering for the experience, but don't let it stand, get to the point and keep pushing. Evolution is a slow process, and I think we are a bit behind the times we've created for ourselves.

Self interest rules here. It is in most young peoples interest to just say fuck it, for their own well being and mental health, head in the sand and try to survive. What else to do? Corporate profit rules, and slavery is written into the constitution.

Through this same path of apathy I was able to find myself, and my own path forward, and here I am posting ramblings on lemmy. But I'm glad I'm not growing up today quite frankly, and im glad i had the people and friends I did. I was raised on punk rock lol.

If there is an uptick in conservatism, and or apathy it's in large part to the sense of self depreciation that's instilled in us, as well as that ever present streak of contrarianism in youth coupled with the disaster that is our education system and unhealthy use of social media.

Polarization and Apathy are a feature of the political and economic system it would seem to me. But I'm just a self depreciating uneducated idiot, with my own fair share of apathy.

I never listened to Joe Rogan, is his right wing leanings a newer development? Or has he always been in the "free thinker", ie conservative camp? I saw a snippet of his show years ago, and it didn't come across as politically charged, but it was a small snippet, and times have definitely changed, polarity wise.

I've never been contacted for a poll. I didn't even consider this. Lying to a poll jfc. Imagine being ashamed of what you believe.

The education need right now is almost beyond our reach. Weve been needing it. Itd need to be grass roots fucking re education. Some media does it, music, etc. But the younger kids need critical thinking skills most of all, and learning mindfulness, self acceptance. Like classes in real fundamental life shit that they're not getting. I don't know how much school has changed since my days. So I dunno. But tampering w schools with the books, that's just....the term fascist is spot on. DeSantis is dangerous. Someone will see him and even springboard off him deeper down the right wing rabbit hole as a politician.
