What’s a painful experience you haven’t had in years?

  • It's already extremely easy for LE to drum up basically whatever charge and stick it to you, for the majority of citizens with no funds for a lawyer.

    We've already got the plate scanners. Everytime I drive by one, my file pops as a red flag and a stop is more than likely, just to "check in" with me, usually with some false pretense like "i thought your window was cracked, my bad, but where you going tonight?" I'm not technically on paper, but I am treated as such. Easy arrest potential with some bs probable cause.

    The fact that it will continue to go further doesn't surprise me. Makes the job even easier for them. If you aren't a good consumer, you will be prosecuted.

  • People where I live now are genuinely afraid of the city for sure. There is some merit, but only if you go looking to step in shit.

    For me, I'm largely desensitized to city stuff from a lifetime, and I'm tired. I don't like it anymore.

  • We've got two blind cats. They're indoor, but we take them in the yard and let them do their thing under supervision. Trying to catch bugs will usually just end up in a bee sting, and catching small game is largely out of the question. Tho they have chased deer away.

    The coyotes around me are massive. I thought I was seeing things one night as a big ass German Shepard sized dog walked cross my yard.

    I know when my cat bites my partner for food or attention she just let's him do it. Then she'll freak out all flustered, I'm like ya your literally letting him do it. Throw him out of the bathroom ffs!

  • I don't have a stone basement, but it's block, on a hill, with bare floor(rocks etc). We just fixed it all up with pump, membrane, dehumidifier etc. Get a good dehumidifier with an actual pump. Some say they have pumps, but they are super weak. Get a good one.

    Before we fixed it up there was a decent bit of mold in the air. And things would collect dust then mold very quickly. So watch your stuff. Keep your nose open for mold.

    Beyond that, every house is different. I wouldn't have an issue doing what your trying to do. I'd probably just keep a door open when I was down there or something. I don't have mold anymore, and humidity levels are good with the membrane, seal, and dehumidifier.

  • I have to be more strict with myself cause I'm prone to extremely unhealthy coping mechanisms for dealing with people. I can deal with most bs nowadays and find it amusing at least, but once you get into "I genuinely enjoy drama" territory then you gotta go from my life. So that's kind of a bunch of people off the bat lol.

  • Guaranteed they feel this and lives are slightly better without the cops running down on them 247 like some tough guys. Having to move all your shit can be the last thread for some. It's an extremely volatile lifestyle. I'm all for ease of suffering in anyway for this community. I really wish it was not like this. Lots of people with little shot. Lots of people with many but wrong circumstances. Lots of people. Lots of problems. I'd hate to ever have to be the cop to come and sweep the riff raff away, who probably has somewhat personal interactions with many of these people often. There's obviously way too many issues on every level here and it's overwhelming for my small brain.
