  • I don't have experience in IT, but 5/7 places I've been to supported multiple OSes, and the one thing I can definitely agree with is; that the cheaper places seem to hire clickops for their IT team and wonder why everything is so difficult.

We don't need to replace every accountant's Excel with LibreOffice overnight, but forcing your dev team to basically setup their own mini IT infra to get anything done is incredibly inefficient. I spend a few hours every week dealing with hanging explorer, crashing software, filesystem operations, buggy windows manager etc.

  • My HR told me I could no longer email bills, but instead had to give them the original paper. I'm afraid somebody there will have a heart attack when I tell them that that PDF file is the original.

  • It's funny because the way you spelt it sounds like the first "don't" of the video you linked. Americans in general seem to make a point of pronouncing things their way rather than how they should be. I don't think it's racism as much as it is laziness.

  • It's not capitalism because it's not the market magically fixing itself but China injecting a ton of money to prop up a sector the big companies have purposefully ignored, to avoid spending money on R&D. Plus all the incentives given here and there to push people towards EV.

And the concept of offer and demand is not exclusive to capitalism, no.
