  • Evenings are the exact same length regardless of where you set your clock. Thinking DST gives you extra time is the same as someone who sets their clock fast so they have extra time to get ready for work. It just doesn't make sense to trick yourself. If you want a longer evening then talk to your employer about it.

  • Literally the only people who I hear say negative things about Torx / star bits are people who don't own a good Torx driver set. They don't strip easily (using the correct size) and they don't slip.

  • If you are having problems with all of the Linux posts then it's up to you to fix the problem. I'd suggest you buy an old Lenovo laptop and install Arch Linux and compile everything from source. That should solve this and a multitude of other problems in your life right now. 🙂

  • As long as I stay mad at "those damn libs" then companies can raise prices with impunity. If nobody boycotts these innocent companies then stock prices will be able to surge.

Honestly though, I wish people understood that by blaming only inflation they're effectively giving companies a blank check to keep raising prices. Sigh.

  • I'm all for crapping on large publicly traded companies but lumping Google in with companies that sell your data isn't honest. Google does not and never has sold user data. They sure as hell use your data for their own ad network but they do not sell that data wholesale. Meta and other data brokers sell your data and this Avast company sells your data through a product they claimed stopped tracking. I'm not pro-Google but to compare their business model (which is very transparent about how it handles your data and how it's never sold) to Avast's business model (which is to completely lie to the end user while literally selling everything that user does) is not an honest comparison.

  • People are already dying because of the broken medical care system in the US. Continuously voting for the lesser of two evils hasn't made things any better and I doubt it's going to be any different this round. The threat of 'worse' is no longer motivation enough for me. In fact, instead of trying to delay our inevitable crash maybe we should just steer this mother right into the frickin wall. Either way, I just don't care anymore.
