  • That reads as if the EU is just sitting on its hands and doing nothing. Please keep in mind that there is significant financial support coming from the EU:

Where the EU cannot compete with the US is in the supply of military goods. For the simple reason that these do not exist to the extent that the US has them.

Edit: I have to correct myself in a detail. The graph of course shows Europe not the EU. So it includes e.g. the UK as well. The point still stands though looking on the rest of the data.

  • Unfortunately not entirely true. They have the largest Linux Community. To be precise, the big one.

ProgrammerHumor is there as well. The Open Source and Privacy communties are very bigs as well there. Completely dwaring their .world counterpart.

I'm not a fan of .ml either but you can't deny that they have this 3 parts (which very much represent the ideals behind lemmy) covered very well.

  • I am a middle-aged man and cry like an madmen when I hear the horns and the king's call.

Spear shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!

  • I'm no american either so no idea. There are quite some things where I as a European can only think either “wtf, how is that legal?” or “wtf, that makes no sense”.

Especially that the president can apparently choose any people with any qualifications (or a complete lack thereof) for any position whatsoever. even if they are completely unsuitable or even completely contrary to the purpose of the position.

A modern democracy should have certain safeguards in place. Or at least some fucking standards and requirements.

  • Out of curiosity, why? I have Linux in it and the last time any website complained about “incompatibility” must have been at least 5 years ago. Nowadays i think such workarounds are completely unnecessary.

  • Unfortunately not true. When I look at how many people have been voting on the right recently. For example among AfD voters in Germany (which got 30% in some areas), Trump is still very popular. The cancer is rampant here too.
