  • Haha, casual sexism is funny when it's a sibling!

  • Start here

If you want recent coverage from everyday people, you can find social media posts from Chinese tourists. You can always Look at the state media. You already know they'll be bias in their own favor, but that doesn't mean everything they publish is fake. Look for other sources for confirmation. Most of it will be boring reports, which is less likely to be exaggerated.

  • How many people become homeless while having full-time work? I'm sure they just didn't work hard enough to deserve a place to live.

  • Translations:

"If someone uses drugs, they deserve to be homeless."

"It's impossible that people would pick up a drug habit to cope with their homelessness problem."

"Anyone else who becomes homeless is just dumb or lazy. It's their fault they don't have my privilege and I'll ignore any amount of evidence to not rethink my shitty, self-entitled world view."

  • Communism is when I have to work and they don't! Wait...no, that's capitalism.

  • Meanwhile the US builds house and sells them to corporations who have no interest in letting someone live there.

Your only source on the DPRK is Radio Free Asia. Go push a train by hand you clown.

Edit: To clarify, the above was in response to the original comment, which was edited to be much more reasonable after my response.

  • They don't call you old fashioned for that, they call you tankie. It's because they're mad that you don't buy the bullshit they push. Look at all the claims they make about the USSR here while providing no evidence or context for the situations they claim people were living in.

They compare apples to oranges when it's communism they are criticizing and stick their fingers in their ears while screaming when it comes to criticizing crapitalism.

  • It gets worse than this.

Not only does most scientific instrument software become abandonware, but there are companies that sell instruments that use the exact same components as they did 20 years ago. The only difference is now they swapped the stainless steel parts for plastic and charge luxury car prices for what will be a piece of garbage in 3 years. These pieces have nothing to do with chemical compatibility and everything to do with increasing the frequency of maintenance that the older models never needed.

  • To add more: the last chatel slave in the US was freed in 1942. During WWII.

Why? Not because it was the right thing to do, but because the optics of having slaves looked bad and the Japanese Empire (of all institutions) was calling the US out.

People living and running the country to this day fought tooth and nail against the civil rights movement. Slavery is not ancient history, it's part of what's allowed a small portion of the current world population to lead a privileged life.

  • Mfw I remember Democrats had the majority in the Senate and the house as well as a SCOTUS that would back them, but they didn't codify Roe v Wade.

  • Your argument makes sense and was not overly pessimistic. Ignore the people throwing a tantrum and storming out of the room. Was it really necessary to comment about how they are unsubscribing when the boring solution was quietly clicking the unsubscribe button and moving on with their day?

  • I had someone telling me it was a mind-control chemical they were spraying to pacify the people once. That's about the closest I've ever come to talking to anyone that took this theory seriously.

  • BCG isn't nearly as protective as modern vaccines aim to be. The GSK vaccine in question in the article and similar ones in development in other research groups are aiming to improve protection over BCG.

It's insane how common latent TB is on a global scale and it's quite a challenging problem to solve from a technical standpoint.

  • What are you, some Russian bot?!

Sincerely, A see see pee bot

  • Definitely not giving up, was just making a bit of a bait-and-switch joke about how so many people feel like they give up their "freedom" by giving up their cars.

In reality I take my bike with me everywhere and love it when public transport is accommodating to this.

  • Nah, I'd rather not give up my personal vehicle. Frankly, biking is so much better than all the alternatives when possible.

  • Gotcha. All good, I know how that is!

Just wanted to check this was the case and I wasn't missing something.

  • Am I reading the talk page and attributed user accounts that commented wrong? Doesn't the name of the user who left the comment follow the comment immediately?

It looks like TheFriendlyFas2 and Yfff argued that being part of the division did not imply he was a white supremacist and it was Death Editor 2 that was arguing the opposite.
