  • The immigrant population voting for Trump is the most ming boggling example of brainwashing I have seen in a long time. It even beats out all the white women voting for Trump instead of Clinton or Harris because they thought "women were too emotional to hold office".

  • 2019 Subaru Crosstrek.

When I was buying a new car I wanted three things:

    1. Manual transmission
    2. Hatchback
    3. All-wherl drive

Turns out there were only three cars that checked those boxes in the US for manufacturing year 2019: a Ford Focus RS (too expensive), a Mini Cooper Countryman (too Mini Cooper), and a Subaru Crosstrek. So I got the Crosstrek.

  • Can you please seek the professional help that would make you feel better and stop using AskLemmy as your therapist?

(Before down voting me, take a look at OP's post and comment history. They are all like this, followed by refusing or arguing against any and all encouragement or advice.)

  • This guy posts like this a lot. It always devolves into a pity party where he rebukes every bit of advice or consolation he receives. Check the comment history.

You've been trolled and wasted your time. Sorry.

  • What is your take then?

I think that health insurance companies are predatory and cause deaths. They are terrible, medical support should not be a for-profit market, and their existence is one of many many indicators of how incredibly broken our society often is.

However, I don't believe individuals should be legally allowed to take matters into their own hands and execute other citizens. Regardless of their reasoning. If this man can execute the CEO of an insurance company because he believes he was wronged by that company, unfortunately the exact same argument can be used for a student to up and execute their university Dean, or a man of one religion can execute the preacher of another.

Citizens can't choose when and where it is appropriate to kill each other based on their feelings. That's lawlessness. As much as I hate, and I mean truly hate, these companies and everything they stand for, you can't have people just getting shot to death by others and still be a civilized society.

  • $5 million of spare money. Not net total wealth but actually $5 million investable dollars.

At that point, I'd you stick that money in a very conservative and safe brokerage account allocation, 5% return per year is $250k. That is a higher salary than almost anyone needs, meaning you can live very comfortably without working. You can't buy a yacht but you can be "done" and so can your children and their children if they aren't stupid.

If you choose to work, then you can just reinvest that $250k and let compound interest do its thing and get richer. Lucky you.
