Had a good wallowing, thinking my life was over. Then slept on it. But yeah - just a refusal to let whatever it was be the end. And to continue not for others but for myself.

They were certainly negligent in not properly assessing McClain (who was already restrained) prior to ketamine admin. Once ketamine was given, they then also failed to monitor and recognize cardiac arrest.

This case will likely lead to change in paramedic emergency care protocols.

I sort of feel sorry for the paramedics in the sense that they were too complacent and should have told the cops "no" when they tried to dictate patient care (as in, 'you need to sedate this dangerous person'). I work in healthcare too, so I'm familiar with cops trying to dictate medical care and the importance of advocating for your pt when that happens. It can be intimidating to tell a cop to fuck off, but sometimes you have to do it. If nothing else, it's your ass on the line.

Quiet! Had my favorite Lebanese takeout, and Voodoo Rangers pumpkin beer that was on hand. Some excellent sports news dropped so we freaked out about that for a while lol. After that we picked Hellraiser and Saint Maud for scary movies, and enjoyed a Balvenie scotch. :)

Idk about doctors, because it's more nurses and other staff that strike. But speaking for nursing, we usually give the employer advanced notice so they can hire travelers (scabs, but also a necessity so you can't really hate) to work during the strike dates. /Cue the delicious scramble and shitshow lol.

Also sometimes there's an agreement to provide X number of employees who are allowed to cross the picket line (we want to strike, but not the bad optics of "selfish nurses killing their patients").

We're doing scary movies (in theaters plus staying in), and a Halloween-themed amusement theme park event (this year is Universal Studios). Happy Halloween, everyone!🍁🎃👻

Not illegal, just very time-consuming bc you half your people each time. So you do all this just for 1 person to give you what, maybe $1000? Lol
