  • Probably moreso in the past 10 years as more and more people moved to using their smart phone as an alarm which has exact time unlike our bedside clocks which had a couple minutes of range depending on when you set it.

  • Took the same photo 20 years ago (except i was where those people are standing in OPs picture)

  • The facial animation is exceptional

  • But then people won't flood to the comment section to correct them

  • The Peppa Pig game is surprisingly open. If you just walk off screen it lets you keep going and you end up in new locations. Hop on the bus and end up in another location. There aren't many blocks to stop you from going where you feel like going and there's a variety of activities at each location.

  • Bet the third party is just a friend and this is all about the Tiktok views. Apple doesn't need to do this stealth advertising, social media will do it for them.

  • This always bugs me about the "it runs Doom" posts. 90% of the time it's just a unique display hooked up to a regular computer where the computer is the thing running Doom or they made some simple raycast game with Doom assets (like all the calculator ones) or they just jammed a raspberry pi in something.

I'm sure this display will show Cyberpunk 2077 if they piped the display in properly. Doesn't mean e.coli are running a 4080.

  • I suspect they probably had to get the ad out that day to print so they just took whatever stock photo they had on hand, smudged it with something black and shipped it out. Finding a model, setting up a photoshoot, makeup and printing before getting to work on the ad would take too long.

  • Too bad the article only mentions apps migrating to Lemmy as a single line in a huge article. Would have been nice to hear about the transition process.

  • According to all early reviews... no

  • Regardless of the function, Netflix paid to get their name advertised right on the remote.

  • I think the issue is putting ultra high res textures on a low poly world shows how empty it really is. Back then designers worked around this limitation. There's a certain density to the image you lose when everything is so clear.

  • Essentially he came in and took over. Now the reason this has been cause for concern is his pedigree which was previously running Discovery where he oversaw its full conversion into a reality TV mill. He merged this new Discovery with Warner and the thing that has most people worried is with this comes HBO which for a long time has been a bastion of the highest quality TV. Renaming the streaming service from HBO Max to Max shows where his intentions are. Maybe you'll tune into House of Dragons then finish the night with F Boy Island. Maybe tomorrow you just watch F Boy Island and they can stop spending big money on prestige TV. That's the end game anyway. HBO generally worked because there were people at the top fighting and greenlighting the best stuff. It's quite likely we'll be seeing less and less of that in the near future.

  • Content providers can probably include chapter markers in their content. I also suspect it's not hard to detect a scene transition. Failing these, randomly placed.

  • Apple TV+ is an app though (which I never use). I'm talking about the operating system and the extended area above the apps is only applicable to the apps you put there (all of which for me just show the stuff you're currently watching).
