Would they maintain their own private off-site backup or would they be in a cluster with other government agencies or renting out from a commercial operation?
The cost would be massive for you or I to utilise such services, less so for an agency, and it certainly isn't difficult.
I understand science is generally always under funded and there's probably some oligarch skimming off of their budget, but I still don't see this being the win they think it is in any form. I can only hope the climate data is not lost to all time.
Planeta is a state research center using space satellite data and ground sources like radars and stations to provide information and accurate predictions about weather, climate, natural disasters, extreme phenomena, and volcanic monitoring.
That’s just fucking stupid of them.
This massive volume of information would be difficult and costly to store in backups, so if Ukraine's claims are true, this is a catastrophic attack on Planeta.
A 45tb tape would cost me a consumer $98, 45 of them would be 2pb and cost a whopping $4,320, it would surely be even cheaper for a bulk order at non-consumer costs. Hardly difficult or costly.
Ethnic cleansing is the forced removal of a peoples from an area.
Genocide is the removal of a peoples entirely either through killing or erasing culture.
There is generally a large amount of overlap between the two however, which is not helped by the lack of a legal definition of ethnic cleansing. What Israel is currently doing is undoubtedly genocide.
Apartheid forced the people into small areas, such as what was done in Gaza/West Bank. What’s happening now is trying to remove them even from those regions.
Japanese stans are next level crazy. Like the stories of idols being murdered and shit by crazed stalkers, I don’t get what breeds this level of extreme response to media.
The idea of the state letting public housing become private is revolting.
It’s about time we kicked developers to the curb, they’re a plague on this country.
"The Greens won't accept the contempt Labor is showing for public housing. If this demolition and privatisation goes ahead it could mean the end of public housing in Victoria."
I’m so glad for the Greens, an actual left wing party that cares about citizens compared to LibLab.
Either the military must really suck at following orders if what’s happening is them trying reduce civilian deaths, or they were going for more but 25,000 dead is the reduced number.
Protesting is allowed down in a cellar, at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.
That’s fucking disgusting, a minimum of $2.90 an hour. Fuck me sideways.
