  • I liked the ideas in the books more than the books itself. as a peice of literature I thought the writing was mediocre at best, characters with the depth of cardboard. maybe some nuance is lost in translation, but I don't quite understand the hype. but the concepts like I said, fantastic

  • you never would have heard this come from the church, let alone the Pope 20 years ago. I don't know why people can't be happy that at least one religion is at least trying to be relevant and adapt to the times, and be more tolerant and inclusive. can't say the same about every religion unfortunatly

  • his cult can't be reasoned with and the process doesn't matter to them. who it DOES matter to are the swing voters and ones that havnt gone off the deepend. if you ignore process, you lose those people and democracy ends. follow the process and at least some of them will have the sense to agree with the process

  • "just skate by" = do what I've been paid to do. When I was younger I hustled and put a lot extra in and as I got older I realised it was a waste of time, got me nowhere and added a lot of stress to my life.

I do what in paid to do, I do it well, but I'm not doing anymore than that and neither should anyone have to

  • back in the day (before chrome or incognito mode) I used to manually delete specific history items, individual cookies and temporary internet files one by one to leave no trace, while not making anything look suspicious, all so my nosy brother wouldn't stumble on any evidence and use it to mock me

  • yeah I got a watch 4 for free with my s22 ultra, I gave it a good shot and used it for a few months but went back to my garmin. I simply don't need a lot of the "smart" features aside from notifications and fitness tracking, which garmin does better, and then there's the battery.... different worlds there
