I've been debating picking up Tinder or something because I'm having a lot of trouble meeting people in the town I just moved to, but all the horror stories have me conflicted on whether I should even bother. 🙃

You're very kind to offer. It's mostly just self-image stuff that will have to clear out in its own time. I've at least got an okay support structure, so I'm not going it alone.

The only sports game I've ever been to was the 2018 Civil War, which sadly wasn't too exciting of a game (55-15 Oregon 🥶)

I came to Beehaw wanting a replacement for orangesite™. However, I've since decided that I care a lot less about having a massive network and more about just having a positive community of strangers to talk to about my life and interests. In that respect I'd totally be open to a smaller platform. Whether that'd be Beehaw or somewhere else, I don't know. But Beehaw leaving the Fediverse wouldn't be the dealbreaker for me that I once though it would.

All that said, I'd definitely prefer Beehaw to stay in the Fediverse. While there are a lot of dorks out there in the wild, there are some communities that I'd really miss.

Didn't really do much during the night of the new year. I've spent the last couple of days on a rollcoaster of anger and depression over things that I have no control over. At this point I'm just ready for school to start back up so I can busy myself with something other than work.

It's not too exciting, but I've got an old Lenovo EMC2 NAS that's probably from the early 10s. I was also running a Pi 1B as a DNS server until it gave up on life.

I usually lean on fish autocomplete to remember things for me. Should I write stuff down? Yes. But I'm lazy, so this method is okay. Until I'm on a different machine and end up completely lost.

I've gotten to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day without any of my relatives going on an unhinged conspiratorial rant, so I'll call it a win.
