  • I mean, I can narrate about the 20 Windows Server 2008 machines that I'm going to have to bump up to Server 2019. But, depending on how it all goes, I might just spoil the mood even more. :D

  • Nonono, thank you for the hard work in keeping things going. Hopefully the next platform, when we move, is a more graceful uptake - for all of our sakes. ;)

  • There's something magical about the idea of suspending a king in a room above a volcano. Y'know, just in case the peasants get mad. ;)

Best of luck! I'm sure it will be !!fun!! either way.

  • If you happen to have a Nextcloud instance, there is a decently robust Notes app that can be used from either the web browser or from a standalone app on Android (available on f-droid and Google Play).

  • I'm waiting for the conclusions to things that are completely out of my control, but that will also have a heavy bearing on my future happiness. I won't know how these things will turn out for months, but that certainly isn't stopping them from impacting my ability to enjoy life today.

  • It’s baffling to me why it’s a weird negotiation to pay taxes instead of them just telling me what I owe since they do know what I owe.

You can thank the Intuit lobbyists for that one.

  • I had a more detailed response to this written down last night, but the servers went down when I tried to send it so I cba.

This is super freakin' cool. Nevermind -Well-Crafted-, I'll call this one ☼Masterful☼. What was your inspiration for the original project?

  • YouTube kept recommending Fallout: New Vegas videos, so I've been doing a mostly bee-nice NCR run. Did main quest up to the dam, currently working my way through Honest Hearts (did Old World Blues super early for the implants).

  • How's your fortress coming along? I'm super excited for the return of Adventure Mode. :)

  • Oh shoot, a cameo from the model 👀

  • Thank you for the ID. I'm in western Washington, so it seems that this little guy might be a bit of a pioneer. :)

  • I had actually considered doing Chinese as my required world language for college. My trade school mentor, who was very well traveled, talked me out of it after telling me how insanely difficult Chinese can be to learn. I'm glad that you're feeling productive with Japanese.

  • I'm watching Cinnamon's Wayland rollout with great interest. No Pipewire sharing yet (among other things), but I'm excited for the future.

  • Well, "just works" in the Todd Howard interpretation. ;)

  • What language? Native, or something new to you? 👀

  • Shoot, I'd probably be one of them if not for my need to have Wayland and slightly newer libraries for my A770.

  • Welcome to the party! Never let anyone get you down for using a "beginner" distro; it's perfectly valid to want a system that just works. :)

  • That's pretty shitty to hear. Interestingly enough, I went to a (very small) Catholic middle school after being expelled from our public school, and it was completely chill. I got along with my peers and the staff were all super supportive. There was a small amount of religious BS, of course, but overall it was probably my best school experience until I started college.

  • I was bullied relentlessly through much of preschool, elementary, and middle school. Being an autistic kid with few friends and even fewer resources to help acclimate to proper socialization did me no favors whatsoever. Things got a lot better as I got closer to high school. All was well and good until I got bullied out of my last job; I failed upwards into a better position with a facility that actually appreciates me, so fuck them. :)

To be honest, I have no wisdom for other people, as my main coping mechanism is just crying. Probably the best habit I ever adopted was removing myself from situations that aren't comfortable for me. If my work, school, or anywhere else can't foster a healthy environment for me, then I'll happily walk away with a metaphorical (or literal) middle finger right back at them.

  • Ah, the age-old tale of insurance trying to skimp on covering medications. My doctor once tried to give me Modafinil (a very gentle stimulant) for mild narcolepsy. Insurance said no, and that they wanted her to try two lesser acting medications first (there aren't any). So, she prescribed Adderall, and they insta-accepted it. Flawless logic!

As for a pep-talk: I have no wisdom, but I believe in you.
