  • Bring comfortable noise cancelling headphones.

I like audio books. Many people like movies. It's something to focus on that isn't flying.

Seats closer to the middle of the plane have the smoothest flight. Middle if the plane as in both over the wing and aisle.

Turbulence, a pilot friend explained it just as a boat encounters waves, a plane encounters bumps in the air. It's nothing to worry about.

    Dog Attack Statistics by Breed

Many dog advocates argue that there is no such thing as a bad breed, only a bad owner. Still, it can be helpful to understand which breeds of dogs are most commonly involved in bite incidents or acts of aggression. Dog attacks by breed statistics are invaluable both for individuals looking for a dog to adopt as well as for those who interact with animals who want to minimize risk.

The breed that commits the most attacks overall is pit bulls.

Pit bulls are involved in more dog attacks than any other breed. In fact, the American Animal Hospital Association reports this breed was responsible for 22.5% of bites across all studies. Mixed breeds were a close second at 21.2% and German Shepherds were the third most dangerous breed, involved in 17.8% of bite incidents.⁶

The breed that is most likely to be involved in a fatal attack is pit bulls.

Pit bulls are both more likely to be involved in bite incidents and more likely to cause serious injury or death when a bite does occur. In fact, from 1979 to 1998, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined pit bulls were involved in the most fatal dog attacks, accounting for 28% deaths due to dog bites during that same time period.⁷

I'll add, I like pitties. I'll also advise taking this with a grain of salt as so many mixed breed dogs fall into the pitbull umbrella.

  • In their defense, they stare at a screen all day looking for contraband. The human brain can only do a task like that well for maybe 15 minutes before zoning out.

I know people who worked in manufacturing. There was a quality control position where a worker had to look at glass going by them on a assembly line looking for defects. They studied how long a person could reliability do that before they started missing defects. It was only about 10 minutes.

I think if that story every time I go to the airport, or when the TSA get trashed for missing half of the weapons they're supposed to be searching for.

AI should be used to assist roles like that.

  • ... how this fucking loser ever got to where he is now.

Starting life as the billionaire heir to a lucrative gem mine built on slave labor will let you stay rich no matter how much you fuck up.

He invested a lot of money into an electric car company. Anyone could tell the wind was blowing towards electric cars.

  • Loophole of the "payment not received on time fee" of $40.

Obligatory - Join a credit union. They're non profit financial institutions that offer the same service as a bank. As a non profit, their fees and rates are much better.

  • The writers of constitution of the United States were advocates of the "Rule of Law".

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_law

For those not in the know, it's a legal philosophy saying that the laws should apply equality to everyone. The constitution writers disliked that the King was above the law. They wanted no one to be above the law.

Now we get to see if the Supreme Court still believes in the rule of law.
