  • In a two party system, voting third party will only ever result in your vote being thrown out. It is taking a stand against reality for the sake of your own personal idealism.

A lot of left-aligned voters learned that lesson the hard way in 2016. If you didn't learn the lesson, you either weren't paying attention or your idealism is more important to you than the actual outcome of the vote.

Doing that willingly, despite (or maybe because) the rest of your side screaming at you not to fuck this up again, is absolutely a level of betrayal.

  • My guess is this saved somebody money.

Simpler design = fewer colors = lower printing cost.

Sometimes this can just be ink cost. Sometimes it can make discrepancies between printers less noticable.

Could still be the other things too

  • Times like this I wish I was still talking to her and she knew I was queer.

Ugh, same. I broke all contact with mine a little before the pandemic and now a tiny part of me will always be dying to know how deep into the cult she sank.

  • Yeah this is me taking Phantom Menace story lines over the One And Only Star Wars movie:

    Aight with you so far

    Duuuhhhh d’duerrrr doiiiiiiiyyyyy bbbbrrthhhhbtb

Not a fucking clue how this is supposed to sound

  • I just installed gimpshop the other day on a whim and immediately I could work at 90% capacity just based 20+ years of Photoshop muscle memory. Gimp never lasted more than a day with me the dozen or so times I've tried it before.

There are ways to make it work, and the tooling out there is getting better every day.

  • For me it depends entirely on 1) which hobby and 2) how the mainstream audience shapes it; if investors believe they can make more money by promoting certain aspects of the hobby, they can change it's entire landscape. And that's not even getting into what can happen when IP law gets involved.

It's a shitty tradeoff to have to make, because sometimes I just want to everyone to enjoy what I enjoy. I've also seen hobbies die from too much exposure.

  • One is trying to tangle a ball of yarn into.a mess and the other is attempting to untangle it and knit a cardigan.

Building on this metaphor, one of my single biggest frustrations with the left is how many of them won't accept anything short of a fully knit cardigan; unless they get exactly what they want, they'd rather just hand it over to the tanglers.
