Not wanting trans women to compete against biological women in sports does not mean people want them to "go away". It means they aren't the same as biological women and people are tired of you guys pretending that they are.

When you look people in the eyes and tell them that a biological man that now identifies as a woman can actually get pregnant (despite lacking the biological requirements to do so) you are asking them to ignore reality and science which most people simply aren't willing to do.

You guys are mad at him but he is taking the same stance that the majority of people have on it.

Whether or not he actually believes that stance only he would know, but I would suspect that like many other people who are now "flipping" on the trans athletes these people probably didn't support them being in women's sports, but felt compelled to say they did because of the backlash they were worried about getting.

Now that people are noticing that the general public actually doesn't want this they are either playing into to popular stance to take or they are just feeling safe to actually express their opinions on the matter authentically.

My aunt had a pug and it couldn't ever breath correctly. It was always drooling and snorting just to walk around. They always thought it was so adorable and I thought it was a cruel existence to purposely create something can't fucking breath correctly.

You're getting into the problems with the magic system of the ATLA universe when taken to its extremes.

If you really let them all go hog wild people wouldn't be fighting in a combat sense but more in a instantly kill you kinda way. I can see why they stopped at lightning for a kids show. The blood bending was already a bit extreme and I am still a bit surprised Nickelodeon let that happen.

Multiple people on Lemmy have marked me as a conservative/Republican incorrectly because I have one or two stances that don't align with the left and they assume that I must be a full on Trumpy because of that.

Yeah like another comment said there is evidence of air benders collecting moisture from a cloud so I don't really know. Then again maybe he was water bending? He did know how to water bend by that episode.

The problem is heat energy/fire would kinda get all the cool shit. Like lava was given to the earth benders in LoK and I always felt that didn't make as much sense as fire benders having access to it.

Air, water and earth all just have the one thing that really makes much sense. Water can do ice and stuff since that's just a phase change for the element they control but what do earth and air get?

My older brother who has been a drug addict his entire life knocked up his meth head girlfriend last year. They both went to rehab and so far they are both sober as far as I know. They both "found God" at those rehabs and as much as I despise organized religion if that is what it takes to get my older brother to be a functional member of society and a proper father/partner for the first time in his life I will take that weird trade any day of my life.

It's weird because my whole life he mocked religion alongside our entire family and now he's posting Bible versus and thanking God for his beautiful kid on Facebook. It's a fucking trip.

Been a real adjustment for my mother and I to keep our mouths shut about it when it comes up, but we both know the alternative is worse for everyone so I guess it's one of those lesser of two evils situations.

Electricity is pretty much just very directed fire if you think about it in a sorta abstract way.

Thats why ATLA was objectively correct that fire benders could also handle lightning.

Whenever I want to listen to someone eloquently rant about basic home appliances and the science behind how they function he is my favorite guy to listen to.

His personal hunt for the right "feeling" led Christmas lights I totally connected with. I miss the warm glow of the older energy wasting bulbs but the LED ones always looked/felt wrong. He pointed me towards a brand that does a pretty damn good job of replicating the color temperature of the old style colored string lights without the energy costs.

When they got rid of the open voice chat between teams at the start, halftime switch and ending it basically went away.

I do miss the halftime shit talk spam though. The picosecond everyone could talk to each other you would just get 10 open mics screaming random shit. One guy would just be calling the opposing teams top Fragger a cheating sack of shit. Someone else would bully the bottom Fragger on the other team for only having 4 kills in a half. Someone would blast ear rape music.

That's a very healthy mindset to have. Too many people happily lock themselves into many bubbles/echo chambers and they lose all perspective. Just because you discuss topics with people doesn'tean you have to agree with them. It's still important to know what other views exist out there.

Holding the opinion that biological women and trans women are not the same and shouldn't be treated as such just means I have eyeballs and a functioning brain. I don't think they deserve any hatred or attacks. I simply don't think they should be playing sports along side biological women because they are not physically the same as biological women. I think trans people deserve as much love and respect anybody else. I just do not subscribe to your delusional world where they are also 100% exactly the same as their bilogical mirror. There are differences and no matter what you say it won't change those facts.

I don't agree with you on all things but I know you are well intentioned so I could happily co-exist with you.
