  • I mean every single year in their own audit they come back saying they "lost" billions and they "don't know" where it went.

We have known money was going into the government and not going where it was supposed to be going for decades.

It doesn't exactly take a road scholar to see that the people have been asking the government for certain things for ages and they always go "oh we don't have the money". But then they accidentally misplace more than we would have needed to do universal healthcare and other things for ages.

  • Yeah but what if the car crash is happening no matter what and you can't do anything about it because it killed someone in the way in so you gotta way for the police to do their thing.

May as well dust the china cabinet. Don't wanna let people think I allow a dusty house.

  • Maybe it's time to start smoking some pot. Jk jk.

Don't tell me 40 is when the joints start breaking. That's right around the corner for me.

  • I feel like it was mostly Asus and Lenovo I would see with like one beefy hinge and one litter stabilizer hinge. It's been years though. Im sure most laptop manufacturers had some asymmetrical stuff.

  • We were talking about the DOD in one of these other comments somewhere.

I doubt they will be thoroughly checking for loose spending in many departments. I'll take some cleaning house vs 0 cleaning house.

  • I cannot fathom being 130 pounds again. I've been over 200 for so long I can't even imagine how much more nimble you must be lol.

Well hey congrats on the metabolism. I know it can be inconvenient how much you gotta eat n all that, but trust me it beats the alternative. My brother is a massive stoner and he eats like an elephant, but he's always skinny as twig. I eat like half of what he eats and I'm a hefty slab of meat.

  • That might work but I have taken apart my fair share of laptops and I can tell you that many of them have asymmetrical hardware. So it might not work.

  • Yeah I get it. Looks like a duck. Quacks like a duck n all that. I am a llama I swear.

I would say only a handful have here been outright hostile towards me. The majority just downvote and leave. Which is fine. I don't care about the fake Internet points but it definitely doesn't help my impression that many people around here are incredibly quick to judge and they make a lot of assumptions about me. Or they hear one opinion that goes against theirs and they automatically assume I am the polar opposite to them on every issue. Which just often isn't the case at all I have a lot of left leaning positions, but it's seems as every day goes by the left are less and less excepting of anyone that doesn't agree with them across the board on everything. It's legitimately concerning to see how little it takes for some of them to turn on each other. Like one position that's a few degrees off and you are completely dead to them. The enemy.

For example there is this chick on my Facebook that I pretty much only pay attention to because she is so far left it's entertaining to watch her spiral post about the most insane things, but I saw her turn on one of her best friends because her best friend wouldn't date a trans guy. They literally agreed on every other political front as far as I could tell, but because her friend said she wouldn't date a trans person it was over almost immediately. Something like 13 years of friendship gone over one political difference in one afternoon. I watched her leave this huge ranting comment and then unfriend and block her friend. She's 35. Just insane.

  • It's a bit more than 20 bucks but you can buy a ring of keys to pretty much any piece of heavy equipment you could possibly want.

You never know when say.... Let's pick a random one ... A Komatsu D355A could come in handy.

  • I had the class record for most sit ups in 60 seconds at one point in my life lol. I think it was 43. I probably couldn't do 43 sit ups in an hour at this point in my life.... I should probably start working out again lol

  • Are you 5'3"? I don't mean that to be offensive I am genuinely asking. I haven't weighed anywhere near 130 since I was maybe 12?

Do you want a six pack or do you just want the belly bulge to go away?

Every little bit helps. Generally speaking if you can work a few push ups and sit ups into your daily routine it will likely have more effect than doing an hour long dedicated work out once a week.

Start out with 10 sit ups every morning right when you wake up and do 10 every night before you hop in bed. Add more as you get comfortable or do them periodically throughout the day.

  • I just assign a number between one and six to each choice. And then I roll a dice.

If the dice lands on something and my immediate reaction is "God dammit" I roll again until I get a choice I like.

Sometimes you don't even know a choice isn't one you want on the table until you pick it out of a lineup of other choices.

  • The difference in gender care still upset me a ton. Multiple ex girlfriends have told me that their doctors and even the nurses don't take their comments or requests seriously unless a guy (me in that case) is around to repeat it. Which is obviously totally fucking bullshit.

My mom was denied painkillers until her boyfriend demanded them for her.

I have legitimately heard doctors say "you know how women are, always so dramatic". Like bitch I am 5'11" and 280 pounds, but I will cry like a baby if I have to get shots. I hate needles. Men can be dramatic too haha.

  • Boy now I feel all turned around.

I'll just clarify my stance I guess. I think it's important to consider how someone's race or genetics can alter their medical needs or risks, but I don't think those genetics should be used to deny medical care. I do think it should be taken into consideration by their doctor though. Just like families have predisposed medical conditions some people are going to have a higher likelihood of certain things due to their race or ethnicity and it's important that doctors take those things into consideration. Kinda like how we shouldn't be using the same exact medical standards for both men and women. They have differences and they need to be considered at all points during care.

  • Lucky for you I do not support Trump or the right. I was a lifelong Democrat until I switched to independent in 2020. I didn't vote for Kamala or Trump in 2024 though so many people around here have basically lumped me in as a Trump supporter because would not "vote blue no matter who". I live in California so my protest third party vote did exactly what I wanted. My state still went blue, but the deathgrip the Democrats have held in California is clearly slipping and they need to see that.

My stance on the whole gay rights thing is my stance on pretty much everything in a similar vein. I do not care what consenting adults do with other consenting adults and I think the government should have absolutely zero sway over any of that. Marry who you love. Fuck whoever you want. I do not care.

Same goes for abortion. I am staunchly pro choice. I don't agree with pretty much any of the leftist talking points around their pro-choice stances, but I believe the only three people who should have any say on terminating a pregnancy are the two people that caused the pregnancy and whatever doctor they choose to see about it. Nobody else should have a single iota of say over what happens.

I'm an open book. Ask me anything and I'll answer truthfully.

  • Alright man. You find a source you like. Pretty much every news source has reported on the USAID situation.

  • ...and you think generic differences should be a reason to deny people proper medical care?

Am I misunderstanding your comment? I have a bit of a headache right now and I feel like I am reading your comment wrong. Please clarify.

  • I don't follow any propaganda sources lol. I don't use Twitter. I don't watch fox news or whatever it is you are assuming I do.

I consume a great amount of news from across the spectrum and I try to find the truth that I assume lies somewhere in the middle.

I speak to my far left friends and family about politics often. I speak to my handful of right leaning friends and family a bit less, but I still talk to them fairly often.

I recognize my methods aren't perfect but it's better than most people will do these days.
