  • Probably busy with something else, or agreeing with @v4ld1z@lemmy.zip decision.

Answering would be more respectful than ignoring. I'm staying away from the instance for now.

If you’re unhappy with Lemmy.zip, feel free to change to another instance.

My activity on this account should show that this has happened, but it's unfortunate as I enjoyed the instance

  • I mean, you’re the one who brought up trans women in sports, admitted to not knowing anything about the subject

That's right, then the lemmy specialists came and hated on me. No source were given, except one, which after checking was a study with low sample size which said that there were small, but non zero, inequalities between cis and trans athletes on a couple of sports, when subject to those sports' rules, while there is no clear consensus on if hormonal treatments are required and the minimum level of testosterone, which can be part of a debate

Apart from that, nothing. So clearly, saying there is equality is misinformation, but saying there is might also be with our current knowledge.

I did my own research. There is no consensus, and anyone saying that there is is lying. However, we do know that having male puberty will make definitive changes to the muscular and bones structure and as such create at least a little inequality, which is ground for debates on the subject. That was my starting point on the subject: the debate is valid and isn't transphobia nor misinformation.

The wrong I potentially agree is saying "biological men" as a mean to refer to cisgender men, instead of using the word "cisgender men". I obviously only used this word in a scientifical context to underline the biological aspect, not as a mean of dogwhistle, but of course if people are against me they will jump on the smallest of things to call me out, even though I wouldn't have used this word in another context. Lessons learned, "cisgender" is also used in science now, so let's not give opponents ammo, and I apologise for this.

and then outright stated you didn’t care if you’re statements caused hurt, so I can see why you copped a (3 day) ban.

I will say it again, but if you're hurt by the fact that there can be a debate on equality between cisgender and transgender athletes, then yes, it's your fault and I don't care, because you're not hurt based on hate speech, but you're hurt because someone has different opinions than you. It's not because you're a minority that you should get a lot of exceptions if that is not fair. There can be a debate and silencing it this way is just manipulation. Passing this as transphobia is deceptive.

Also, your response to someone concerned about CSAM being posted was to say ‘I’m sick of people using “think of the kids” to justify strong moderation’ (paraphrasing)

I strongly believe freedom and transparency should be over security. I have enough of the censoring, auto filtering of messages, manual approvals and believe they do a lot more harm than good. Perfect examples of that is what many governments try to do with the analysis of all of our private messages, phone and computer contents and media... You're just painting me as a weirdo

so you don’t seem like someone worth taking seriously.

This is purely based on your emotions and opinions. I did not misinform or act in bad faith.

  • Obviously the reason I want to reach out

Apparently not agreeing with specific subjects about sports and transgender athletes is transphobia, despite science backing up the fact that a debate can take place. When feelings and opinions are over facts and debates, you end up with this mod log and the blahaj instance

I’m not going to start the debate again but you’re free to check the comment history, modlog, search studies, and you’ll find out I’m not bullshitting and Ada, v4ld1z and her team is pushing misinformation for the good of transgenders, but still misinformation.

  • After checking, you can't really make any conclusions with a sample size this small

It tested 19 cisgender men and 12 trans men, along with 23 trans women and 21 cisgender women

It could give an indicator but clearly not a definitive answer. This has little to no proof value, but hey, in this field, we're pretty limited with sample size, so we'll have to do with it.

The reality seems to be that both sides lack scientific and statistical data to back 'em up. The only thing we know rn is that hormonotherapy should be required.

This is no longer a science matter. Unfortunately, it’s become a political matter

Totally agree with this however. This discussion and my recents bans are proof of this.

  • ❤️ feels good to hear from time to time. I'm just shocked at how much people are fine with that.

It's pretty similar to hexbear and lemmygrad in a way. You learn to avoid and not trigger them because it always end in a bloodbath even though you never intended it to

I believe what infuriates me the most is that your comments just end up being deleted instead of just downvoted. It always goes in the same way, as if there's only one voice.

  • Things doesn't always go your way and people should accept that.

If it hurts them to discuss these kind of topics, then don't, but don't go and call people transphobic for that because it's just not. Maybe they should just not get hurt or offended that easily.

If you get hurt because someone doesn't have the same opinion as you while still being respectful, that's sad.

That's just the argument from authority all over again. Transphobia is transphobia. Not agreeing on a particuliar subject is not transphobia because a random transgender person said so, or even if all of them say so. A definition is a definition, you don't get to redefine the meaning of words to fit your narrative.

  • Sure. So questionning about sports and potentially being wrong makes me transphobic?

That's exactly my point. If you don't know, you're transphobic. If we don't agree with you, we're transphobic. If you're wrong because you made a mistake, then it's deliberate and you're transphobic.

I know your kind very well. I used to be one.

The good old argument from authority, I see. We're not the same, and you don't know me better than myself. Thanks. Please refrain from using manipulatory speech tactics.

Btw to be transparent, I still haven't done the research about the sport subject after the criticism. It's about time I do. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, and I'll admit it, but giving facts is better than saying I'm motivated by some evil intentions, because that's just base-less and wrong, and another manipulation technique.

  • as you’re refusing to do the bare minimum required to speak to that person as an equal

That's what's you think is going on, but that's not the case. You jump to conclusions and say that everyone not agreeing with you is a bigot, or should act like they know nothing and trust you because you're the incontested authority. It doesn't work that way.
