  • Am I the only one who'd have no issue with ads in lemmy? As long as they dont use too much space. Amount in ads in RiF was good for me, don't know if they earned much from it.

Money could go to app creator and instance owner, i don't care, as long as it helps running the community.

  • Sure, its doable, but if we return to OP issue, is it available and usable now? If there's a service provider I'd trust to do this, it's CF, they have a good, solid product and they have not given a reason to doubt their business ethics yet.

  • Me and it was so cool. My (approx 25k inhabitant) town had like 5 roads and one of them was completely wrong. I rode ~20km every few days on a bicycle trough all streets, uploaded gpx and drew roads. I think it was around 200+km to draw all streets, but the end result was so satisfying.

I have updated plenty of poi data since then, i love the idea that data is open and can be used by anyone. Yes, there are better and more feature complete solutions, but this one is about community. Btw osm had more frequent updates and when there were major road construction in our capital city, all navigatiom systems but osm were useless, it updated on a daily basis and was always accurate.

The power of community, we can only make it better.

  • I know russian a bit and jargon for russian word "teapot" is also commonly used as "dummy" or "novice". 418 for foreigners might have been on purpose there which brings Your April's fool joke to a nation wide level :)

  • Found one russian troll already. Oh well..

Edit: lol, was not referring to OP, it was some world news post comment with chiese username that spread misinformation about russian war in ukraine. I just added my thoughts on the community.
