I live close to the border, I went to the USA for shopping and vacations 200+ times in 25 years. I went once or twice per month. I have not ben there since October 2024 and doubt I will return.

When doing grocery, like everyone here, I avoid all and every USA things.

Yes, I'm in Canada and a software programmer for 25 years, and yes it's not the golden age anymore, but we don't have those H1B visa problem here. It also really depends of your field, if it's frontend web/javascript it's harder to find. If you are backend or embedded linux etc, it's better I think.

Some fields like FPGA is highly looked for too.

I'm an old coot, I know some names like something paul, mr beast or pewdiepie, from when I was on reddit years ago, I know those guys are "youtuber" because I saw the thumbnail, but I have no clue what they do or what they speak of or why they would be famous?!? Yes, especially China, they have "secret police stations" around the world, lot in Canada, where they track and harass Chinese citizens who have immigrated to Canada. It is well documented.

yup, I'd buy apple or microsoft or nvidia because they are going down now but will go up certainly in 1 or 2 days or even weeks/months. Except tesla, this one will go down and down and down for days/weeks/months, tesla stock is super toxic, dump all of it.
