There's uh, lots more than 2. It's similar to how there's English English and Nigerian English, just dialectical differences - some more major than others.
My absolute favourite is when your password is too long but they don't tell you that, I guess because they weren't expecting it. It only causes a hitch when you later try to login and it doesn't let you ....
I find Lemmy isn't super at pushing newer content at the top, and you have to just mix between the different sorts. The content is definitely there. The alternative way to mitigate this is as follows:
In my settings I have "show read posts" unticked. This ensues posts I interact with (e.g click on, vote on) with disappear from my feed afterwards (upon refresh/reload, of course). I don't think it clears posts that have appeared in your feed but you haven't interacted with. This is extremely effective in keeping your feed fresh.
When browsing on my phone (Boost For Lemmy), I make frequent use of its "hide all read" button to quickly gut anything on my feed that I've seen before (no interaction needed).
You can, of course, just manually hide posts as you go but uh, the above methods are better at automating that process for you.
I used to get really annoyed with stale feeds but upon doing the above it's pretty much always fresh content.
Lol people have been "ditching" Firefox for various reasons for years. If you can barely get people to ditch Chrome, good luck with making some ff fork relevant.
p.s. although it’s now out of date, as some instances are no longer around (RIP Lemmy.film), this post is still a pretty useful resource for a broader range of communities than those listed here.
It works fine, you just need to download an old version in order to login. It doesn't let you login in the latest version but you can update it once you are logged in
If anyones looking for chill communities to sub to, here's a fat ol list https://lemmy.world/post/16327122
