  • Whelp, guess I'm joining the Boycott US movement

    Edit:

    Swapped Google for Ecosia

Brave for Librefox (also swapped Firefox Nightly for Iceraven on mobile)

Swapped Uber for Bolt/Uber Eats for Just Eats

  • Yes, the apple theme was initially off-putting to be honest and I doubt most casual users take the time to check out the settings before looking elsewhere. First choice should always be (imo) the most familiar/comfortable for users.

  • Yes. It's quite popular amongst that crowd to claim the CIA essentially proved psychic powers were real.

The CIA absolute did investigate and put to use people who claimed to be mediums/psychics/remote viewers but the research was shuttered and discredited.

  • It's better if you untick "show read posts" in your lemmy settings.

  • I made a list of casual communities on Lemmy awhile ago https://lemmy.world/post/2216085 just subscribe to stuff you like and curate your own feed. Block the politics subs. Boom.

  • I think maybe they're testing things on a regional basis and it just hasn't hit me yet. I dunno, either way I'm happy for now lol

  • I did play the original many, many years ago. I was thinking of trying it again recently.....

  • Unrelated to this but worth noting that Sync will be broken in the soon to come 1.0 update for Lemmy. The dev for Sync is awol. Might be worth checking out the other apps like Boost for Lemmy, Summit, Thunder, Jerboa, etc.

  • There is no risk, creamapi also doesn't require any executables, nor does the DLC :) But fair enough.

  • Buy game, pirate DLC. You can use creamapi to unlock everything.

  • XManager stills works fine for me, to be honest.

  • Sync is outdated and will be broken in a future Lemmy update, some features already don't work (such as hiding read posts, they're meant to stay hidden but they don't in Sync). I'd suggest trying out Boost for Lemmy, Summit, Thunder, Jerboa, Eternity - roughly in that order.

  • Lemmy users try not to be insufferable when Windows is mentioned (Challenge) (Impossible)

  • this entire article is about a single tweet some guy made as a joke

  • No, but you can export your data/subscriptions through your settings, sign up on another instance and import it. But moving posts/comments over, no.
