  • First I thougt its just a prank by a bored social media intern, but it looks like the whole company is built on this insane absurd communication. It was a hilarious read :D

  • Joke aside, get a thermostatic mixer. It can even save you water and money by instantly getting the right temperature water instead of standing outside naked for minutes juggling with a settings, while the water is on.

  • Sorry, I did not mean to attack you personally. Te high-end GPU market is clearly NVidia territory and in my opinion so few people are using theses cards with Linux, the issues related with them might not get as much attention as the more mainstream stuff. No suprised AMD not even trying to compete with these cards and want to stay in mid-high range.

  • You are like th 0.01% of gamers dude. 4K ray tracing is borderline luxury category.

  • I think with applications, like Calibre its relatively painless to save the whole library, if someone is ready to jump ship. Now its the perfect time.

I personally use a Kobo without the online features, which is fantastic, but there are many great Kindle alternatives without the corporate spyware bullshit.

  • About to install it on my new rig. I am using Mint, which is fantastic and it stays on my other PC, just wanted to try the nice baked in gaming features.

  • I love this, because even if it will not have a significant impact on things it will definetly bother Muskrat enough to do something loud and cringe in response.

Also saw a few Youtube influenceers doing the same thing, like Ozzyman.

  • Great addition, thanks. There are similar online prescription glass webshops in Europe as well. They just need your eye exam results, some basic measurements of your head and they can cheaply make great glasses/sunglasses.

  • Its probably not the best answer you looking for but since I use prescription glasses for driving I always get a pair of prescription sunglasses as well. I can choose the frame, the lense and the type of coating on it (usually go for polarized/anti-reflection).Even my health insurance works on these so I can claim back some money from the price since its qualifies as regular prescription glasses (EU). Just need a descent enough optometrist. Some places even allow you to re-use existing frames and you only paying for the eye exam and lenses)

They are not cheap for sure (100-200 euros minimum for frame + lenses) but for me its a great long term investment.

  • Welcome to the club :D I did the same thing last summer and also switched to Mint and never looked back. So basically Im a fellow newbie. It was the best decision as everything just works minus the windows shenanigans.

Even gaming is almost perfect (apart from the occasional tinkering here and there) its more than great. All my games work great, some better than under win.

Im even in the middle of building my new gaming PC exclusively for Linux in mind.

As I have to use win 11 for work (work laptop) I can see switching was the right decision as every update makes it more annoying and bloated.

  • Ah yes, P for Phish, classic kindergarten stuff

  • I wish Nokia was still a big player in the phone business. My favourite (and most unique) phones were Nokia:

N95 - still looks gorgeous and classy and the "slide both ways" design blew my mind at the time. If they would release a new version I would probably buy it.

N-Gage - it was a cool and gimmicky phone, I admit it, only bought it for playing games, but loved how weird it was.

Lumia 920 - I loved windows phones, actually this was my second one and for me it was the best I could wish for. It had great camera, it was fast and looked super cool compared to the android competitors at the time. A shame the era of windows phones didn't last long.

  • Building a new PC soon and really thinking about to try out one of the more gaming focused distros, so happy to see there will be multiple to choose from. I'm on Mint for a while now and had very good experience with gaming and performance. Normally I would not have time to do the whole "distro hop" thing, but damn I just might :)

  • A failure is a failure, no matter how small or big. Just because its Apple why brush it off as a happy little experiment?

  • Every single review I saw said the same thing. Its amazing tech, with a big price tag and nobody knew who is it for. The magic wore off pretty quickly and nobody wanted to use it long term.

Would a mass test have this kind of marketing though?

  • It failed, no need to dance around the subject. It was a very expensive demo product, and nobody wants it.

  • As a kid the biggest one I can remember was Wolf, from the book The Talisman (King/Straub). Hurts to this day.
