A good knife sharpener. For 100 USD you can get very good ones, but even a 10 USD/EUR one can make a huge difference.

I found a great one and bought multiple of THESE, it is truly amazing. The suction cup design is genius.

I know its not the most ideal place, but FB marketplace where I live has lots of old PCs/Laptops for under 50 eur. I would probably start there personally.

As a huge fan of Obsidian I strongly agree with you.

Same. Also when I set rules to send stuff to specific folders sometimes I cant see them there, but if I search for the email specifically it finds it. WTF?

I found out by accident, when I was checking a new daily report and some dates were not visible in the folder, but I could find them via search.

The search function is useless

Heard the manual vs automatic argument million times. I learned to drive using manual, my first few cars were all manuals and this is all I knew for a long time.

When we bought our first car together with my wife we got an automatic. She is a less confident driver, and wanted an automatic car. I dont mind it at all, got used to it and now I don't miss manual at all. She is a much safer driver, under stress or in a sticky situation the manual transmission is a an extra thing to worry about and I feel calmer knowing that she can fully concentrate on the road instead of shifting.

I think manual is great for experienced drivers, but automatic is so much safer for beginners and people like my wife.

A friend of mine had a similar issue. Also UK, West London a guy was blasting his car stereo every night in front of his garage, often till 8-9 pm, in some cases during the night while having some weird people over. It was very loud, walls vibrating, etc

Various neighbours called the police on him at least 5 times but nothing happened, he turned off the music for a while, ignored the cops and turned it back on after they left.

They told them they need hard proof to do anything, this would involve getting a regular recording of the music and they should measure the decibels and vibrations to prove how disturbing it is to start anything. It was just the most bizarre way of telling people the local council and police will do nothing. Who the fuck has this kind of equipment and knowledge to do this?

Needless to say nothing happened. My friend moved to another place because of work within 6 months.

I do hope in your case the local law enforcement will be more competent, I wish I could give you an actual advice instead of a story :(

Airlines store their airplanes on airports most of the time when not in the air. Airports charge them a huge amount of money for this. Even if if there is a few minutes delay, they get big fines for occupying a gate.

Imagine having extra planes on standby.

This is a nice thought. I love a nice looking game, but as long as it runs smooth and I can enjoy it IDGAF what setting is on max or medium, probably 9 out of 10 I wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyways.

The ray tracing is a great example for HW marketing bullshit, where you get nicer picture, but much slower framerates and requires crazy expensive hardware, but its all the buzz, everyone is obsessed with it. I mean Im not an expert but wtf is going on with the GPU prices its not normal.

Just don't understand people looking at screenshots and gameplay videos and commenting on how the shadows on some background detail look slightly better with the FSSMGXTR scaling setting turned to BBXT5 instead of HAMndX3.

Should all new Linux users get through 10 distros and years of trial and error, before settling for one they like the most?

Imagine you want to leave MS and windows behind and are greeted by comments of your caliber. Then please provide an alternative starting point, elaborate, be helpful.
