  • business organization.

There are some interesting ideas out there, but not many trying things. Most companies are "sole proprietorships", and frankly not much need for organizing the workers when it is only oneself.

Holacracy looks promising, but I don't think it is stress tested. I like the idea of being certified in various skills and being able to work on those topics (maybe this isn't holacracy).

  • Interesting scale there (all workers unionized versus one country fucking over others), I don't think they are exclusive.

It would be better, butnot perfect and with new issues.

I have started to think of the federal mining wage as "the union of man's negotiated minimum rate". All other unions and individuals negotiate from that.

  • Luke is the 3rd most powerful Jedi at the start of Episode 4. 2nd by the end. 1st after Yoda dies in 3.

Plus Luke blew up a Death Star in Episode 4. Vadar has never blown up one Death Star.

  • ugh replicator goods just aren't the same

    Aren't they all the same?

I agree, though. Nothing like the variation in ice cream churned by hand, then scooped by hand. The cup and spoon can be replicated.

  • “We were told it was just going to be a consolidation … that the scientists would not be let go,” the employee said about the layoffs, which have affected almost everyone at the Morgantown NIOSH campus. “But the scientists went in the first round.”

  • Aside from the death and fear it was great. All plans canceled. Lots of distant community. Lots of processes that seemed impossible (like work from home) suddenly were easy.

Then fuckers started whining. Place started opening too early and raising infection rates. More people died.

Fuckers started selling counterfeit masks. Medical misinformation ran rampant.

As USA N95 supplies drop due to fired inspectors, and misinformation increases, this next pandemic will suck.

Edit: Even UBI seemed possible. Which is wild.
