I understand the Japanese don't like old houses. Homes are regularly torn down and rebuilt. Do some research, but it might not cost as much as in the West to rebuild.

Start using it. Look up anything that bothers you.

Don't make it your work or main computer yet. That might create too much frustration.

"Out of the box" security is decent at this point.
