  • Well I never had this after I got covid 3 years ago. So maybe I had some kind of resting long covid that got triggered by the vaccine? But not the other times I got the booster?

I don't know. I'm not a doctor or scientist. I'm just really really really tired all the time now.

  • So I got my first 2 shots way back when. And I think this is my 3rd booster?

No underlying health issues but it might be worth noting that I got covid way at the beginning of the pandemic and I was hospitalized for a week. It was the sickest I have ever been in my life. I was sick for 2 weeks before I went to the hospital because back then it was next to impossible to get a test, and it took forever to get results back.

I don't know if I'm one of the few that is just voulerable to covid or whatever, and maybe because of that the vaccine has a chance to hite differently? I don't know. There's still so much unknown about covid, but I'm really hoping this fatigue clears up because quality of life is way down right now. It's been very difficult to work and take care of my daughter etc. Driving isn't safe... It's not great.

  • I need to preface this by saying that I am in no way anti-vaccine, and this has nothing to do with politics.

    But...

I got my last booster about 3 weeks ago, and I have been messed up ever since. Apparently there is something called Long Vax Syndrome that is currently being studied. Fortunately I don't have some of the worst symptoms, but the fatigue is so real. Normally when I would get a covid booster I would be exhausted for about 24 hours, but this is unrelenting. I've never been this tired in my life, and it's honestly a struggle. I am really hoping something comes of the research and they figure something out because I don't know how long I can sustain this.

  • Also short selling. Maybe I don't have a full understanding of how it works, but I don't think you should be able to place money down in hopes of the decline of a company. I don't think that really encapsulates the spirit of the word "investment".

Like I thought the whole idea of stock was to put money into companies thag you believe in so they can have extra capital to grow, and then you get a cut of it. How in the world did people figure out a way to bet against companies and profit off of them losing? It just opens the doors for even more insider trading and corporate sabotage.

  • Watch them for what exactly? For... Voting for another candidate? I don't understand. Like. They are looking for fraud? What would that look like?

I don't get it. Like if I went and watched the people at my local voting center, I would see a bunch of senior citizen voulenteers handing out ballots, and then I would see people putting their ballots into the big scantron machine thing. That's what it would look like. That's what it looks like every time.

  • I want to be cremated, and then have my ashes condensed into a diamond. I want that diamond to be embedded in the hilt of a sword. I want everybody in my family for generations to be put in the same sword and then in the distant future when the zombies arise, my great great great great grandchild can break the glass and weild the blade honing the power of generations of ancestors in their hand and start lobbing off heads.

  • Right on, those are some very fair points. I guess calling them trash is a bit far.

But out of genuine curiosity, could you expand on how the movies you mentioned are conservative Christian movies? I know Die Hard takes place on Christmas, but that's all I'm picking up.

  • I mean, he's not wrong. But there has always been a ton of shitty action movies with the same cut and paste plot. Marvel just tweaked the formula.

And it's not like good movies aren't still being made. The Marvel movies are historically bad at winning awards. There have been a handful of nominations, but not a lot of wins. The wins always go to good movies that deserve them.

Sure, the Marvel movies pull in more money than other movies, but the money makers are usually trash. Marvel is like the McDonald's of movies. It's going to pull in way more money than a fine dining establishment, but not because it's good, because it's the garbage that the public will take out their wallet for. There is space in the market for both of these things.

  • How the fuck else are you supposed to hold a Klondike Bar? This is not an end user issue. This is a engineering issue.

Edit: apparently there's a wooden handle to the side. I did not see that. I regret everything that I have said, and I deserve to be publicly shamed.

  • I met my Wife on tinder 7 years ago and we have been married for 4 now. From what I'm told, that was the golden age of dating apps, and they have gotten awful. It's all bots, and people trying to sell only fans subscriptions. It's a bummer because the concept was good, but once people figure out how to exploit the app for money, it's over.

  • I have worked in IT for 15+ years, and I default to they/them for pretty much everybody. If I get a ticket in for an end user, and the name on the ticket is Jaime or something, it's a coin toss on the gender, so I just go to they/them. Even if the name is more gender oriented, I don't make any assumptions. And of course there is the case for foreign names I have never heard before. There's no harm in using they/them. Or of course the ol' "The end user"

  • "Every problem we face in this country whether it's a bonfire, homosexual marriage, transgender issues, whether we're talking the economy. Every single problem in this country has one answer and his name is Allah"

"We want Allah to be in control of everything. We want believers to be the ones writing the laws."

Sounds familiar... Sounds like the "terrorists" they are actively trying to fight.

The fact that we have a world that is still so controlled by religions is disgusting.

  • Oh man... I don't even know how to tackle the legislature needed to handle AI content correctly, but I can tell you that the dinosaurs in office have even less of an idea. If we continue the path of corporations paying off politicians, which doesn't seem like it has an end in sight... We are about to have some new problems that 5 years ago nobody even thought of.

I miss the old internet. Shit has gotten way out of hand and there is no stopping it.
