macOS is pretty bad about using up storage space. There are always huge 10gb+ cache files for cloud related stuff. Even if I’m like, don’t store it locally.
I’ve not used macOS in years, so many that issue has been resolved.
The laws are strict and would hold doctors liable in some places. There was an instance where a woman needed some pain killer but the doctor wouldn’t prescribe it because it could cause the termination of a fetus.
When the lady told the doctor she wasn’t pregnant, he told her that she could become pregnant.
I know that’s an extreme example, but it is an example.
Another is that abortions in the case of rape might be illegal in some places and traveling out of state to a place where about is legal is also illegal.
It’s also illegal in some places to knowing help a person get to a place where it’s legal to get an abortion.
I’m not in expert in the subject, and the law varies by state so it gets confusing.
My wife and I do not live in the US and don’t plan to return, so we have not followed it closely.
Oh, I think there was also an issue of cops or the government possibly buying the data from period tracking apps, but I’m not sure about that.
I use Linux for personal use, and Ive been using windows for work due to necessity.
There is one app I need that does not support Linux. I contacted their support asking about a Linux version and they suggested using waysroid to run the android version of the app.
So, when I have free time I’m working on switching things over.
My main motivation is Microsoft pushing ads everywhere and being aggressive about using online accounts and stuff that like.
That’s pretty interesting, but it’s a meeting software. So I’m regularly sharing my screen and sharing files. So I need to be in the os. I’ll just key checking it every time a roster counts out for proton or the app I use.
Thinking about it more, I like to draw the line there as everything after this generation had some level of internet connectivity. Also PC ports started to become common during this time.
Once the internet got involved i think gaming in general started to get worse with all the dlc, and micro transactions.
So the golden age of gaming, for me, is ps2 and earlier which I like to think of as retro.
I’ll add FFVIII since the controls are better on PSX. If I remember correctly they lost the source code. In PC you can only move the character in 4 directions or maybe 8, but on psx they can move in full 360 degrees.
I could be wrong, but I think Jellyfin has an option to give something a sort name. So while it would display the Italian name it would be sorted alphabetically by the name you type in.
This is so movies will be sorted in order. I’m not sure if it will work, but please give it a try and let us know.
I still prefer it over windows. If it were not for their absurd pricing, I’d have a MacBook Air over my thinkpad.
I’d much prefer to run Linux, but I’ve yet to find a way to do my main work task on something other than Mac or windows.
