  • I would not trust that the pills he was throwing out to the crowd were legit. But if an independent third party could verify the drug, why not.

Also, I am not suffering from anything that is too expensive to fix. Maybe if I was desperate and not rich, I'd have a different opinion.

  • I’m not sure how true this is, but I read somewhere that when Mac got above 5% market share, it suddenly got a lot more mainstream support.

I wonder if that means we’re are a year or two away from Linux as a mainstream option.

I’d love to have an arm based Linux laptop with software support for one of my critical work apps.

  • My biggest concern with graphene is that I don’t really trust that my apps will work on it.

I haven’t looked into it for years, but I do need to use apps like Microsoftone drive, WeChat, banks, etc.

Even if they work I’m concerned that they will see I’m on some modified OS and block my account.

  • I’m not surprised. The steamdeck is the only way that I game any longer. I think their approach to hardware upgrades not being frequent is a great idea. It lets devs have target hardware for the games to work on.

I couldn’t be happier with my steamdeck and will get the next one on day one.

  • I don’t think this is accurate. It says Apple is the leading phone where I live, but the large majority of people here are too poor for an iPhone. Plus you rarely see people with them outside the rich areas of the city.

  • A while back people had a problem with metadata or something. I used to have my own server, so I wasn’t really worried about it.

But it’s been like 3 years since I’ve used it or looked into it.

Kinda curious what’s changed at this point.

  • I thought it would be cool to have qr-code stickers that when scanned would be an ebook.

Sadly, they don’t hold enough data and I could not find any kind of compression that would help.

I know it could be linked to a server, but then it’s reliant on an internet connection and for the server to be active.
