  • The actual longest word according to the Swedish academic word list is "Realisationsvinstbeskattning" (Capital gain taxation)

But as with many languages we can add together several words in some ways so according to Guinness world records (yeah, they suck) it's "nord-väster-sjö-kust-artilleri-flyg-spanings-simulator-anläggnings-materiel-underhålls-uppföljnings-system-diskussions-inläggs-förberedelse-arbeten." (North western lake coast artillery flight reconnaissance simulator construction material maintenance follow-up system discussion posts preparation work.)

  • Ir spell shot.

  • Young, most old people I know either don't know anything and are fine with that, they get help for even the simplest things, or they can handle it themselves without problems.

  • Even as a teenager (didn't have a computer before that) I had infinite patience with computers, you can fix/change/make anything with enough time, nothing will be better if you get mad and ignore reading and making sure you understand what's happening. Seeing how young people handle tech now is fucking depressing, they just click past everything without reading, get mad and rage quit after 30 seconds of something not working and think anything that's more than two clicks/taps is too complicated.

  • Wow, few can relate in the ways you've expressed, I haven't been able to sit down and read your whole comment yet but the bits I've read show you understand. Thank you, and all the best to you! I'll come back and write more once I have the energy. Hugs!

  • RedBull supports far-right politics, not recommended to consume anything they make in any way.

  • You can't use basic grammar, spelling and punctuation either, apparently.

    I can't breathe, omfg!*

  • "Peeps" works too!

  • Hahah, I'll use that, great saying.

  • The inability to use basic grammar and punctuation seems like one. Or they're just so dumb they were unable to do so before.

  • Every comment here says you're in the wrong, and your reaction to that is "No, it is everyone else who is wrong, not me." Learn to take a hint.

  • But at the same time, they converge too. I feel way older than I thought I'd do at my age (35).

  • Really? It was less active than Reddit about a year ago, but now it's not that different in terms of how often the front page changes. Browse by all and just block whichever instances and communities you don't want to see. I'd much rather have fewer comments than most of them being bots and children spamming dumb shit.

  • My dad died in December, I've been on long-term sick leave for 15 years due to my "action paralysis" anxiety, I lost contact with absolutely everyone (including doctors etc.) due to my inability to even answer my phone, lost my benefits (not sure if that the correct word in English, but in plain words, I stopped getting money). I missed two rents and almost lost my apartment. I managed to make contact with my mom and we've now spent a month doing everything we can to get my sick leave back, but my new doctor is not good. And for some fucking reason a drug test showed a false positive for tramadol (I've never taken that, and haven't taken anything other than my medications) so now we have to fight my doctor because she made up her mind that the reason I lost contact was because of drug use and not being willing to get better, which is complete bullshit. I'm lucky I'm in Sweden, where help exists in ways it doesn't in many other countries. But this is my worst experience with the health system, and I'm already at the edge of a cliff with my action paralysis. We have pleaded to get help before the end of this month so I won't miss another rent, since that would pretty surely be the last drop so I loose my apartment, but all meetings we've gotten (4 different ones) are in April, so now we're desperately trying to get someone to understand the situation so we can get help. I've only had food enough to survive, nothing "nice" like snacks or anything, I've of course been unable to pay for music streaming, cloud computer for gaming and much more. At least I've been able to get my medication and enough food to not starve, but it's not a good life right now.

  • I think this is what some of my neighbours look like each day when I play something different. One day, Algerian jazz from the 70s. Next day, modern German disco. Next day, psychedelic folk from Brittany (the French peninsula). Next day, synth-wave. Next day, energetic 80s Japanese fusion. Next day, Swedish Lounge Jazz. etc.

  • Does anyone remember Megalinks on Reddit? They started a forum after it was shut down, I was lucky enough to get invited before they closed registration. The forums are still very active and it's the best community I've experienced online. I spend as much time there as I do here.

  • Also, humans are animals, so speaking to every animal includes all human languages.
