Thanks for this, will try what you mentioned accordingly. Don't have all of the stuff you mentioned, but shouldn't be to expensive I hope. Thanks for your input π»
Yeah, I believe that the common consensus here on Lemmy is that Brave is ran by an A-hole and shouldn't be supported. Secondly it's hated for injecting it's own ads and tracking into things aswell as the whole crypto thing.
Thanks for sharing! I will share a little tip back, the Spotify URLs actually contain tracking by default, you can remove everything after the question-mark (including the question-mark) and the link is still completely valid :)
So your link above could be, https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4l4YsYNV4wjqtQ8F4sz0ul.
(I don't blame you, I blame Spotify)
Yeah wasn't gonna allow it, but crazy that there is no additional information or link to explain further. Most lesser tech savvy / privacy focus people would click this without hesitation, that is what bothers me the most...
Does Privacy count?
I always I try to encourage people to treat themselves to better privacy, to step away from big corpo platforms and use more Foss services. Doesn't stick with a lot of em. π
Vivaldi, although it's extremely nice tab management system and unique features, isn't open source. But probably the better chromium browser of the owns you mentioned.
There are a plethora of sources out there of good reasons not to use these browsers. But seriously, Firefox is an excellent browser, treat yourself to better privacy π¦
For many of us, paying for these services are more convenient that putting up with the bullshit of services like Netflix and Amazon etc... There are so many streaming sites now that it really isn't convenient anymore.
But yes; Just like there are greedy streaming services there are greedy VPN providers. So folks should keep up-to-date on who to choose. (If you ask me, stick with either Mullvad, IVPN or Proton VPN. I've done a lot of research and still am on the landscape of VPNs for my master thesis, and it's a pretty nasty corner of the internt..)
Piracy isn't purely about getting things for free, it's about convince and preserving digital media too.
Wow wow! Just trying the demo out feels super snappy and good, also crazy how fast the images load compared to other solutions i've tried! Will defo give this a shot when available on Unraid (Unless i do it myself).
