I had already resigned to just getting an Intel n100 mini PC for my purposes, but I might take another crack at it with your recommendations in the future, after I get some rest and stop dreaming of pies in the sky.
Except Raspberry OS. It's still a bit sluggish for me. Manjaro KDE has been the fastest so far.
Yet I've still been unable to achieve that despite trying multiple distros. Only Android of all things has successfully played YouTube (via smart tube) and video without any issues. I've also yet to see video evidence of smooth playback aside from one person on YouTube (Computers Explained I think), and it was only on Raspberry Pi OS. Which in fairness I kinda do too, but it takes like 12 seconds average to load a webpage on their version of Firefox (no added extensions) and either 5 or 30 on Chromium for some reason.
I've been trying to set the Pi as a htpc (that's not a lobotomized Kodi box) that can also do minor streaming and a few other things, for 5 days and counting. I made a nice click friendly desktop with Manjaro KDE for Pi, and the OS itself is snappy and fast. But any major video graphical elements and it becomes a geriatric Commodore 64.
I know (read:guess) it must be that something going wrong with hardware acceleration, but just can't figure it out. Maybe my Pi is cursed.
I've found I prefer Fedora over debian builds for gaming, and Bazzite also includes literally everything needed for gaming of any kind already installed. Also it being immutable is really good in particular in case a game causes system issues. Bazzite also has great Steam Deck integration and desktop interoperability if needed, and can install emulators from the get go, along with many wine configurations for older Windows games.
It's also nice to have my work space divided completely from my gaming one, and a debian build is great for productivity programs like audio mixing, 3d printing, and art, since there's more stability and support vs bleeding edge like fedora.
Hence my dual boot set up (with separate ssd's).
Now I just have to get around to writing a script to clean up the grub menu, street going through making it look pretty.
I think they're talking about this round. The Democratic primary meant nothing because Biden isn't running anymore suddenly and they're the one picking the candidate.
It's still obviously a better choice than Trump by far, but there's no way the DNC didn't know Biden's condition for this long. This was pure politics, manipulation, and undemocratic. There wasn't a choice on who the candidate is, only which pre-selected candidate you don't want to be president.
Very underhanded of a tactic, but undeniably an effective one, despite everything, I can acknowledge that at least.
