  • Unfortunately, the stock one will be the only one with even a sliver of privacy preserving measures (so far). I tried Swiftkey when it first got released on iOS, and not only did it just not feel right like the stock one, it was also bought by Microsoft at that point and I hadn't known since the last time I was on Android, they did not own it. :/

If you do find one though, let me know! I love trying out new things!

  • Small talk is a skill that you must work on to get better at, which then makes it easier for you to be more talkative about your own passions. I used to be a quiet person who didn't like talking, especially small talk, but as I got older I realized life is way too short to hold myself back on forming connections, however minute they may be, and to share passions or experiences with others that may give me some ideas to further get the most of my own life simply by hearing how much fun or how cool this certain thing was. You can enrich yourself by others experiences.

  • I understand needing to protect your IP, in some sense, but what I'm getting at is that when a fan game is made, it is a homage to a beloved franchise that fosters love for the IP. If you were a smart company, you would foster this love for your franchise, to entrench the fans you already have, and to gather more fans because you are seen as the company that "does no wrong", which in turn also increases your profits. Imagine if instead of taking these love letters to your franchise down (which makes you look like an absolute fucking ass to most), you made a feature of it on an official channel. Look at Scott Cawthon and his Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. He encourages people to make fan games using his original ideas and that encourages people to not only love his own games, but to go out and start developing their own little games that include ideas that Scott may not have even thought about including before. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is a good way of protecting your IP by taking down blatant rip offs of your game that want to steal money from your fans, and cause confusion to new fans. Then there is the bad way, which is taking down these passionate love letters to your franchise that encourage others to look at the original source and see why they even decided to take the time to create the fan game in the first place. IF the fan game is trying to monetize, then by all means, send a warning. Tell them to not monetize it, and they are free to continue. If they continue, Cease and Desist. Hopefully that makes sense.

  • I, for one, absolutely LOVE it when people talk about things that excite them. I ask questions because I want to see them get even more excited or passionate. I would honestly be hurt by someone like the OP, only pretending to be interested, because then with no follow up questions or anything, I would assume the conversation is going nowhere and would probably stop even trying to interact with them.

  • What about the fan games that were made of pure passion for the IP that they've taken down?

    To name a few:
    Pokemon Uranium
    Pokemon Prism
    Mario Maker 64
    Another Metroid 2 Remake
    Zelda Maker
    Ocarina of Time 2D
    Zelda 30

There are countless others I'm sure.

    FUCK Nintendo.

  • I agree with everything you said.

That doesn't mean that we can't at least try to show people or teach them things that they didn't have any knowledge of prior.

All my life I have been self taught. Never had like-minded people, unfortunately. I just try to be the "older sibling" to this man, because he is where I was in life. No one took time to show him things, called him stupid, etc. He's come a very long way, and now goes and does his own tinkering. If I just let him be, he says he wouldn't have grown like he has.

Sometimes people need guidance, and that's all I strive to provide. What he does after the guidance is 100% people are people.

  • Please do not assume a whole entire 6 years of friendship by just this one comment.

I did say it's okay, and that we can watch it on my desktop, which we then did, and even though DBZ isn't a favorite of mine, we both got excited. His excitement from DBZ, and mine from his excitement.

He knows how I am, how many times I've mentioned how much I fucking hate ads. You, on the other hand, know nothing about me.

Have a good rest of your day.

  • Showed a friend how I got a modified version of Youtube on my phone. He did it, and when it came time to re-certify the app (7 days for none paid developers) he couldn't be bothered to plug his phone in, and let the program (that automatically recertifies it mind you) do it's thing.

He was showing me a video on the new DBZ Sparking Zero game, and had two whole ads before being able to show me whatever it was he was going to show me. I mentioned, "Man. If only there was a way to prevent this kind of nuisance.." and gave him such a withering look, he just put the phone away and said nevermind.

It is actually fucking insane what people are willing to put up with man....

  • I couldn't find where I saw/heard it, but I swear I saw a blurb about PRIME drinks containing polyfluoroalkyl, which is what allows jackets and tents to repel water..

I did however find a Consumer Reports article.

  • Here you go, buddy.

    ReDUMBlicans.

    TL;DR:

Obama left 105 empty federal judgeships when he left office.

Republicans slowed down Democratic nominees during Obama’s first term.

They virtually shut the process down in Obama’s final two years.

  • Here you go!

    Decky Loader

Animation Changer (I recommend just following the install guide for Decky Loader, opening the plugins shop from the side menu, and then finding the Animation Changer plugin. I just included this link so you would know what to look for, and to see some of the dope ass animations people have been kind enough to share.)

Happy hunting! If you don't know, you can also install CSS themes, change the background noise and UI audio elements too! I've got mine with a Fallout (Blue) theme, sounds from the Pipboy for navigating the menus, and most of the retro console boot animations. :)
