  • This is the correct mindset to have when trying to push Linux as a viable alternative to the big two.

If you make more things easy for newcomers and just anyone in general, you'll eventually get more users, and a larger base that then correlates to higher overall usage of Linux. You know, like those screenshots of the Linux install base we see every now and then?

You don't have to keep Linux behind arbitrary lines, but for some reason, that's all we like to do.

  • They were.

I bought God of War Ragnarok through Steam, and had a hell of a time trying to get past the PlayStation account. I spent an hour or two trying to do this, gave up, refunded the game, and immediately pirated the game.

No PlayStation login, and the game worked fine with whatever updates I could find.

Fuck that, and fuck Sony. You will not do that to me again. I can't speak for others though. I'm sure they will eventually pull this scummy shit again, and we'll be talking about it. Again.

  • Start taking it back by creating your own nest here and then slowly self host it on your own equipment if possible. Then it will truly belong to you.

I recommend Neocities since I've used it and it actually taught me a little about HTML. Now that I know how my website works, and I have backups that I can download from Neocities when I want, if Neocities ever wants to go down a shitty path, I can always just throw the files I had on there onto my own server (with a bit of finagling I'm sure).

We can have our own green pastures while the average person stays on Facebook/Instagram/whatever.

It sucks, but that's the cost of having the internet wildly available now. :/

  • So for someone who has a 2080ti, should I go with a 50 series card? If so, would anyone have a recommendation? I don’t need it right away by any means, as I’ll need to save up for an upgrade if I even can. I just know that I will need to replace it as newer games come out.

  • Dragon Age Veilguard was a bastardization of Dragon Age. Of course it was going to fail. You failed your core audience, you idiots.

If you wanted to make a Marvel version of a dark fantasy game, you could’ve made a new IP, instead of leeching off the brand.

    Body mod

The body mod isn’t exactly the one I used, but to give you an idea of the mods I liked using at least.

There was also a garage mod that allowed you to tune the vehicles in the game, and a mod that makes the legendary ping hack back to its superior form from the original release before they started changing things.

Nexus Mods hosts a bunch of horny mods, and there is a toggle for it to help get the clutter out of the way. I keep it on because I think some NSFW is gore related, and I might be interested in those if they are decent enough.

  • So, I have the prod keys from my own v1 Switch, and plugged those into the emulator, to play games I bought on physical carts.

I’ve never understood how that is illegal when everything (if you’re doing it legitimately of course) is done legitimately? They could’ve taken out the generic prod keys and be okay? Or does it not matter either way because Nintendo said so?

I’m genuinely curious because that seems like it’s well within my rights to do, but I’m not sure as legalese gives me a headache. :/

  • Multiple data leaks have came about because of Facebook yet you don’t see anyone here saying anything about being happy to ban it. It’s so weird to see the disconnect. The true answer is for ALL of us to have actual data privacy laws enacted by our dinosaurs in government.

  • Are you somehow not aware that Google/Facebook/Twitter literally do the same thing? Wouldn’t it make more sense to create a data privacy law so that everyone benefits? I don’t understand why that’s so hard to grasp for some of these folks.

  • The data is stored on US soil, so whatever they are able to gather, the US government is allowing it. Which means… all social media. So, ban all social media then if it’s such a risk, right? Or.. I don’t know.. maybe make an actual data privacy law so no one can steal and hoover up your precious data?
