Back in the 90s there were adults saying Marylin Manson should be banned because teenagers listened to his songs, heard him tell them to kill themselves, and then they did.

My reaction then is the same then as now. If all it takes for you to kill yourself is one person you have no real connection to telling you to kill yourself, then you were probably already going to kill yourself. Now you're just pointing the finger to blame someone.

And you have to point out that just because something works for others, doesn't mean it works for everybody.

I'm pretty unskilled when it comes to linux, but I've noticed linux users fall into one of two groups.

First, the group who genuinely want to help you. They may not KNOW the exact answer, because they don't know your exact hardware, but they try to help with common problems.

The other group takes it as a personal insult if you're having problems in linux that you don't know how to solve. Like linux is part of their personality, and they think linux is perfect without the ability to have problems. Therefore the guy asking for help is just trying to insult linux, and therefore themselves. They then respond with hostility and personal insults about how it's your problem.

Yeah. It IS my problem. Can ya figure out what I'm doing wrong?

But they don't see it that way. In their eyes, linux is perfect, and you're an asshole for saying you have an issue.

So what I'm saying is, I love how you already know you need to state upfront you KNOW it works for others, but not for you.

American here. Why do you still even talk to us? We're clearly going through some shit this past decade. Nobody would blame you if you treated us like we treat Mexico.

Which, isn't my personal opinion. I think we should be inviting any mexican that (for some reason) still wants citizenship here. I just know my opinion, and the governments view, are ENTIRELY seperate things.

In 2007 I went to a hockey game. They gave away a hat. It says "Lake Erie Monsters".

Now, today the team has been renamed. It's now the Cleveland Monsters.

Point is, it's a red hat, with white text, and I haven't been able to wear it since 2016 despite having nothing to do with trump or politics.

I just like hockey. And my hat is RUINED!!!
