.bashrc and .profile can be modified without root, as can autostarting .desktop files. I think systemd and anything in /etc require root though.
Also a lot of users set sudo to not require a password (I am guilty of this) which makes privilege escalation easy.
I agree. The plane is moving, but the camera's movement and the relative speeds of the two planes makes it harder to see. If you scrub quickly through the video it's easier to see it moving forwards and downwards.
From their timeline it seems it'll be a year or two before it becomes available, but that's pretty cool nonetheless. I wonder how strong (and sensitive) of an antenna the satellites need to communicate with phones designed for much shorter range communication, and if it'll work with cloud cover.
