  • Linux doesn't actually need any functional components to run; if you put on enough pairs of programming socks and take some psychedelics you can simply sit in front of a blank screen and hallucinate a fully functional Linux distro!

  • I like the comments here a lot more. Reddit's comment ranking algorithm mostly prioritized highly upvoted comments, so the top comments on every thread would be the earliest ones, and anything much later would be lost in the sea. Here new comments get ranked higher than older ones even if they have fewer upvotes, which gives them a lot more visibility.

  • I think I'm too young for Facebook, and I deleted my Instagram account about a month ago. I was primarily using it to socialize with friends, but decided that wasn't worth the privacy cost.

  • That comes out to a speed of 7.5km/h or 4.7mph, barely above a brisk walk. Good to know if I ever need to outrun humanoid robots it won't be hard. (The self-driving cars are another matter).

  • Robots are a lot more energy efficient than humans. Human muscles are around 25% efficient while robotic motors can be >90%. However they lose massively in energy density. 100 grams of carbs has 1.7 MJ of energy, which is equivalent to 2-3kg of lithium batteries. A human can run for hours on a kg of calorie dense foods, while a robot would need a bulky battery or constant battery swaps/recharges.

  • I think it's a pretty good response. It communicates that you have a crush on them, while giving them a simple way to tell you whether it's reciprocated, and implying that you care what they think.

Of course you could just be direct, but that can be hard, and this way is pretty funny too.
