  • Got the land for 60k (was listed at 120 but had been on market for 2 years never be afraid to come in way low worst they can do is say no) pole barn kits can be gotten for almost nothing on Facebook marketplace all the time in my neighboring states so the inital structure was cheap. Took multiple years to be done as it was all diy

  • The only way it's remotely viable is if you're willing to move out to the middle of nowhere. I've decided to go that route, with only about $200,000 to my name I was able to buy 4 acres of land and get a pole barn put up and turned into a house.

The trade-off is that I'm about an hour and a half out from the nearest actual City the only thing nearish me is a tiny town with a population barely reaching for a thousand of primarily retired elderly people

But I decided that this was better than feeling trapped in the city forever in shitty apartments with ever increasing rent

  • Yeah no, i don't have the time I've got my own shit to do. My Plex system is almost entirely automated. Ombi let's me request a show with a single tap, sonarr finds it from my sources, sends that to transmission, then once it's download imports it and puts symlinks with proper naming into the library folders. And then plex properly matches up the metadata.

  • I'm still waiting for it to be up to par, I have jellyfin on the server and I check it maybe once a month with the latest version but it still fails miserably with my library.

It's a very clean high organized library managed by sonarr. All Files are in

"series name (year) > Season xx > series name SxxExx (episode title)"

format and yet it still just fails miserably at matching so much of my content (its a rather massive library) especially on anime. Half the time I have to manually match it, and I have to use the Japanese title in order to pull up the English metadata, because that makes sense.

Playback also just... Fails for no reason on tons of my devices. It's been getting better recently but until it's on par with Plex I am not leaving sadly

  • It wouldn't be the heat used for drying, it would be the heat used for washing. Assuming that you have a dishwasher with a sanitize cycle/option always use it. they are required to reach a minimum temperature of 150f. typical range in actual products is 165ºF to 180ºF (74ºC to 82ºC)

  • That's why you get Kodiak Protein mix. 14 g of protein in just the mix, make it with milk and eggs instead of water and you've got even more. It's my favorite waffle/pancake mix they are so filling

  • It's funny because I do none of that. I never build any of the luxury goods of any kind no coats no beef jerky no special housing. The game is honestly pretty easy to beat the maps, get to building tools as quickly as you can and then just Spam Glades and send crates to the Citadel easy rep points

  • What do you want them to create rotating carousels of underground parking? Their parking lots are already massive what more do you want.

I just always go to the farthest possible parking spot from the store cuz they are generally always open easy to get in and out of and bypass all the stupid closer to the store

  • Make sure it's sending to the correct port, if you go into the audio device management of whatever your desktop environment of choice was you should notice that you have the advanced options on the HDMI to select which HDMI port it's going to

  • Maybe it is just the customers in your area, mine is usually not backed up. I don't have any problem with the various loose items there is always a barcode somewhere and if I don't see one on the product I'll take a picture of the one on the Shelf so I can just scan it right off my phone at the checkout¯(ツ)

  • Is there something weird about how your Home Depot did it? I absolutely love the self-checkout at the Home Depots in my state. They all have the wireless hand scanners so I just pull my cart up, beep beep beep beep beep beep beep and off I go I fucking hated before they had self checkout at Home Depots it always took for fucking ever now I'm in and out regardless of whether I need one thing or 20 things

  • It partially depends on the store. I have found that Walmart and Fred Meyer have some of the worst fucking software in existence and it's guaranteed I will have an issue when I go there. But I've never once had an issue with the Costco machines, WinCo machines, or Safeway machines. I am able to go through self-checkout even with an extremely large cart and get through it without any assistance.

And I fucking love it, it's faster, it's easier, and honestly when I'm shopping I'm usually tired and don't want to interact with anyone as it's the last chore I will do at the end of a long day of various tasks to do

  • Pizzas from scratch does not become 30 minutes of work until you're well versed in it. Before that it's a giant mess which most people who are poor and living in tiny Apartments literally just do not have the counterspace for. And a few hours of learning.

When you are poor the vast majority of your time is generally spent trying to make what little money you can, you come home you have enough time to quickly eat something shower maybe if you're lucky to get one hour to yourself before it's time to sleep.

There are lots of foods that you can do quickly and easily from scratch for yourself. Especially if you can manage to get your hands on something like an instant pot or other type of large slow cooker or pressure cooker. Things that will allow you to make seemingly complex meals with a couple button pushes and you don't even have to be home to monitor it but pizza from scratch is just not one of them
