Honestly, with Israel at war, I'm amazed we're not seeing more crazy endtimes nonsense from the evangelicals than we already are. Probably it's only because the description of the Antichrist in their Left Behind understanding of how it's expected to go down reminds them a little too uncomfortably of the person currently dominating their voter demographic.

Long story short, Easter is found by calculating the first Sunday after the first full moon falling on or after the vernal equinox. The Western church (Catholics and Protestants) use the modern Gregorian calendar to find this date, whereas the Eastern church (Orthodox) use the old Julian calendar, ensuring that Easter (we call it Pascha) falls after the Jewish celebration of Passover.

Some Orthodox traditions, primarily the Russian Orthodox, use the Julian calendar for the Nativity as well, and celebrate Christmas on January 7.

Especially dumb to get up in arms over this since 1) Easter is a movable feast, and 2) The Church doesn't agree on the date of Easter in any event. For me and millions of Orthodox, Easter isn't until May 5 this year.

It wouldn't be acceptable either way.

Again, more false dichotomy. A temporary ceasefire is better than no ceasefire at all, and the fact remains that the reason there will be no ceasefire resolution as a result of the US proposal is because Russia and China vetoed it. They share responsibility for the continued violence in Gaza.
