Guild Heighliner and First Light

The scent of rain or rather when rain falls on dry soil is called petrichor.

Today's my birthday. Work went well today.

Eggs, bread, cream cheese, vitamins, orange juice, and water.

Yeah, I work in a warehouse. It's pretty dusty in there. I don't want all of the dirt and grime to end up in my bed.

I live in Florida. I shower once a day in the evenings.

It was good. I'm hoping that my workplace doesn't go out of business, I joined just a few months ago and I like working there. I'm also hoping that my home life improves, but that's unlikely. My birthday is later this week on Friday, my mom wants to take me to Golden Corral, I hope we can have a good time as a family.

Mid 20s gen z here. I'll be sure to vote for Biden. All in all he's pretty alright in my book. Sure things could be better, but that's going to take a bit more time, hopefully his successors will be better.

Reddit killing off 3rd party apps. Also Lemmy feels more free as I don't need a set amount of karma to be able to submit a post or comment. I had a lurker account on Reddit that was verified and everything, but there were times when I wanted to post and when I did only I could see my comment.

It didn't immediately click with me when I joined that ML meant Marxist Leninist even I used to be one.

Hello. I'm a a Reddit refugee, I mostly lurked though. I'm in my mid 20s. Here are my birds.

I drive a 2015 Chevy Spark, the gas version. The ev version was discontinued in 2016, the gas version was discontinued in 2022. The Chevy Sonic, a similar, but slightly larger model was discontinued in 2020. The Chevy Bolt, an ev and larger, but still compact model and a successor to the Spark and Sonic was discontinued this year. It's become apparent that most Americans do not like small cars. I don't think much can be done to make small cars likable here, I'd love to be able to drive a car like the Honda E, but there's no market for it here.

I prefer Lemmy, it's a smaller community and I like the fact that you don't need karma to make a comment or post. I still lurk Reddit every now and then, but only for information about my interests, I don't comment or post.

My life would probably be vastly different than it is now. I probably would've gotten an actual diagnosis for my autism, I used to be mute when I was very young, rode the short bus and attended speech therapy classes. My folks would've been able to afford a childhood behavioral psychologist, would also have afforded a private tutor when I struggled in school. I probably would've been better educated and I probably would've been better prepared for college as I ended up dropping out to try my hand at the workforce. My grandmother who lives in NYC was a nanny for a rich family, they sent their kids to an equestrian school and later in life their kids studied abroad. The family also has an away home in another state. My granddad inherited a sum of $200k from his dead mother who lived in the UK, but that money is probably long gone by now

Also, my parents probably wouldn't have gotten divorced, they divorced primarily for financial reasons, my dad lost the house that his family helped him buy. Now my mom's second marriage is coming apart for financial reasons as well as my stepdad wanted to take an equity on the house to pay down his cc debt and feed his gambling habit. I also would've accomplished some of my milestones a lot sooner. I financed my own car back in 2022 at the age of 24, it's a 2015 Chevy Spark.

My idea of rich is enough money to not worry about bills, maintenance, groceries, and also having the disposal income to afford some modest luxuries. I think the sweet spot for some would be the point where money is secondary to time as a currency as you're money rich and time rich.

If I'd won the lottery, I'd be able to achieve a lot of my goals much faster and with much less effort, one them being paying down my debt such as my car loan. I'd also be able to dream a lot bigger like trying my hand at starting a local business like a modern arcade or a gamer lounge. I'd also like to try living abroad, but these are some of my way out there dreams. Some of my lower goals are very much achievable without being rich like paying off my debt or buying a three set bookshelf, but it will take a bit longer. Some of my bigger goals will require more time, money, and effort.

I don't think dating apps are for me. Previous relationships did not work out. Despite having similar interests we were very incompatible. Filters do very little when people aren't being entirely truthful. For example, last person's profile said she never smokes and only drinks socially, but she smoked weed, vaped, and drank daily.

I want to go back to the traditional ways of meeting people, but I don't like night life activities. I hear that volunteering and church are good ways to meet people in person. I'm also going to attend some upcoming local events featuring some of my interests.

I always eat the crust.
