  • I was forced to upgrade since i was still rocking a 3g phone and my area switched to 5g. The phone company gave me a free Pixel6 since it wasnt my choice to upgrade. Maybe if you hold out long enough you'll just get a free upgrade. Though it was a double edge sword, since they tried to up my monthly bill since i was "upgraded" to "premium data". I had to fight that and still ended up paying a few bucks more than previously, but better than what they tried to charge me.

  • I was curious so I asked GPT. Pretty interesting stuff

The solar corona is the outermost layer of the Sun's atmosphere. Its outer boundary is not well-defined, and its extent varies depending on solar activity. However, on average, the solar corona extends several solar radii above the Sun's surface. One solar radius is approximately 696,340 kilometers.

During a total solar eclipse, when the Moon completely blocks the Sun, the outer parts of the solar corona become visible to observers on Earth. At that time, the corona can be seen extending far beyond the Sun's visible disk. The temperature of the solar corona is much higher than the temperature of the Sun's surface, and the reason for this temperature difference is still a topic of scientific research.

While the solar corona is not a fixed distance from the Sun's surface, it typically extends millions of kilometers into space. The exact dimensions can vary depending on solar activity, such as the solar cycle and the presence of solar flares or coronal mass ejections.

  • Same prompt in StableDiffusion:

  • The Harry Potter films. I just finished HalfBlood Prince this evening.

  • The first one was bad, that second one though...

  • I still think about the guy i sent in the complete wrong direction about 15 years ago. He was dressed up, so he must have been going to something important. Sorry dude!

  • I played a homebrew dark steampunk fantasy campaign years ago where my character used to be a wizard. his backstory was he cast a spell to transform himself into a huge warrior one time as an experiment but when he did, it made him too dumb to remember how to change back. He still thought he was a wizard though, so he would cast "spells" by throwing whatever wasnt bolted down at people. My favorite "spell" he cast was teleport. We were being chased by some thugs in a car and i teleported into their car to stop them by just jumping out of our van and onto the hood of their car. I rolled high so ended up going through the windshield and landing in the back seat where i clonked the driver out.

  • O'Neill, his back-swing interrupted.

  • I'm sitting here waiting to go into a work holiday dinner that we are being forced to go to. Somehow I think telling my boss how I really feel about this diner might backfire. Being able to pay bills is always a plus.

  • Pineapple is a perfectly acceptable pizza topping.

  • I haven't tried it personally, but https://deoldify.ai/ might be an option. Though, it seems more geared towards colorizing than restoring.

  • Ok "Holy fucking shit!" It is then.

  • Wondering how he's going to get past that world border. Cool look though.

  • I work for an online business. Its very small but the owner tries to run it like a Fortune500 company. They're all about SEO and attend all kinds of seminars with words like Synergistic and 'metrics that mater' etc. They've spent the past month upping all our prices by 30% so we can offer a 20% discount and still make more than normal. Its shitty and I'm not a fan, but this seems to be the norm lately. That, or just offering worse quality in general. Ive avoided black Friday deals for a while now.

  • The camels are probably in cahoots with the CrabCats...

  • I know this thread is a bit old, but I used to be an irrigation tech at a 27 hole golf course. Just wanted to throw some numbers out there for anyone interested. This was in a hot climate for reference. During the wet season, we would pump out anywhere from 200,000 gallons to 600,000 of water per night. During the summer or droughts, we would pump 750,000-1,500,000 gallons of water PER NIGHT. During the day, especially during droughts, I had to go around spot watering everything all day. I could easily pump 150,000 gallons during the day on top of what we pumped at night. During a hot week with no rain, our average was around 10.5 million gallons of water. Our course used "reclaimed water" but the majority of the water was supplemented by the city supply. We only got the reclaim license because of some favors and shady deals to lower our taxes.

  • Sharks and other bony fish have something called Ampulle of Lorenzini that let them detect electrical signals in the water. it can also detect electromagnetic signals and possibly temperature differences as well. I always thought it would be cool to be able to sense electromagnetic fields. It would probably be overwhelming though TBH

  • Its everywhere dude!

Edit: that x is meant to be + but im as lazy as i am bad at math
