  • I don't know if it's android or Samsung doing this. Both are trash.

    On the android side it'd be because Google seemingly hires the dumbest project managers possible for the thing.

    Samsung side I'd waver itd be because they think their customers would be too stupid to diagnose an issue with hotspot without a sim (such as if WiFi is working)

    TV stations are broadcast sometimes at 100KW. Compare that to a 40 watt LED bulb.

  • Nintendo: our newer stuff is also not USB-C compliant.

    There's a special place in hell for this company.

    Edit: to be clear I mean the charging standard. Although regular USB-C docks shouldn't pose too much of a problem. I had some issues with one on Linux back in 2019 but just the HDMI and I ended up fixing it.

  • Yes which would allow them to handle distribution. Like IP address bans. A video store can't sue a customer over copyright if they make a disc image of a CD. That'd on the copyright holder only. They can ban the customer though.
