yes, i do. Almost daily.

You can also find plenty of similar designs for third party chargers.

Since my original charger is set up behind my TV for when I want to hook the deck up, I am using a small Anker 313 45W charger for on the go.

I don't know, I believe this footage might have been tampered with.

Why is the horses mane not moving?

I haven't had much luck with HD texture packs on the steam deck, unfortunately. I tried Gran Turismo and - more importantly - shadow of the colossus. But performance dropped to unplayable :(

The day epic stops giving out free games, is the day I stop regularly visiting their store, tbh.

Their storefront is horrible, lacks basic features steam had for years and their CEO is particularly unpleasant. I'm glad I haven't given epic a single penny.

I used calibre with the dedrm plugin to strip all my kindle ebooks from DRM and converted them to epub.

I then jailbroke my kindle and installed koreader on it, ditching amazon completely. I am not buying books from amazon anymore, but I get my books exclusively drm-free as epubs.

Calibre, combined with koreader on my device, allows me to sync my ebooks wirelessly over WiFi at home.

Probably a good idea to quickly pop it open and have a look at the battery. Opening the steam deck is quite easy (remember to remove the SD card!), It only takes 3 minutes to check :)

From what I understand, iFixit is their official partner, valves support website directed me towards that as well.

When did you get your steam deck? Mines an original Q3 an curious if this is something common for our 2 year old devices?

August 2022, close to three years old now.

I just went to ifixit's website and ordered the battery. Ordered it on sunday night, according to my tracking app it has just been delivered, so no long waiting times.

Maybe it depends on your region? It's in stock on the german website.

I thought about that, but checking the ifixit guide revealed there are holes spread around the battery tray, I was worried that any isopropyl alcohol I tried to get underneath the battery would just drain through those holes onto other hardware, potentially causing damage.

In hindsight, tough, maybe putting some IPA onto the plastic card I used to insert underneath the battery to cut through the adhesive would have worked well.

eh, apparently, not really. When it comes to battery health, it feels to me like the wisdom changes every few years. It probably wasn't very healthy for the battery to be on the charger for dozens of hours on end, despite battery management.

If youre talking about before the operation: I let the battery discharge completely (fired up a game and played until the system shut off on its own). I haven't charged it afterwards, but imidiatelly removed it.

If youre talking about general usage: it was plugged into the outlet whenever I was not gaming, It barely drained below 40% when I used it.

This was a chore to remove. I had to heat up the battery so much, I was really worried.

I remember batteries that had a pull tab, why can't they use those anymore

I am considering not using the adhesive that comes with the new battery, but using something a lot less adhesive.

What have you been playing

My usual games: Tetris Effect, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (openRCT2), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
But also a few other games: Selfloss, Trans Neurotica and GTA V.

Allthough my Steam Deck will be out of service for a few days, I found a "spicy pillow" in my deck, have to wait for a replacement battery to show up :(
