Bloodstained is a top contender, I can't say I first discovered it on the Deck, but it just feels right on a handheld, in a way that it didn't with controller on desktop, and the Switch just isn't good enough to run it at a passable framerate.

I can't imagine what gives you that idea about the Steam Deck. I've had mine for a year and it's a great little device.

I too have had several "Oh my god, is this my generation's Muzak?" moments.

I wish 'exclude by tags' was more accessible, maybe if it prompted you to view that setting after you 'not interested' a few games that shared the same tags.

Yeah, I'm shocked they can wrap it up that quickly.

Like, bargain bin socks that are 8 pairs for $5, or novelty socks that are so thin you wear holes in them in two weeks? 100% agree. But a couple good pairs of quality socks are a game-changer, pair with a good pair of work boots and suddenly it's not even that bad being on your feet all day.

I'm going to make a recommendation for pretty much all the metroidvanias, the deck was practically built for them. The Castlevania Advance collection has three great old games, including Aria of Sorrow, which was the progenitor of Bloodstained (which might honestly have a little too much going on - if you feel like you'd enjoy a simplified version of that, Aria is your game.)

But also do remember to pick up Hollow Knight. And Blasphemous. And if you're emulating, Metroid fusion, Zero Mission, Metroid prime even, if you feel like frigging around with the GC emus.

Also, Soulslike games play particularly well on deck. I can get a pretty stable 30 out of Elden Ring, I'm sure the older titles work pretty well too.

Because the U.S. has been letting its mental health issues fester under a veneer of American Exceptionalism for the better part of a century in order to squeeze every last drop of labor surplus out of its citizens.

Well, for what it's worth, we're happy you're here, not just as the topic of discourse, but as a contributing member too. I just hope we can hold onto the sense of community that gets lost in the wash when a user base hits that certain threshold. The last few months I spent on Reddit were kind of awful, even before the blackout, to the point that I started physically feeling way better after I nuked my old account.

Honestly I'm kind of hoping the ability to disassociate from instances is the secret sauce. I feel like the Beehaw admins have been doing a good job decoupling from federations that get a bit too ick - I certainly see way less negativity here than there.

Oh yeah, the boulder-sized knees, I remember seeing that shit on a weird fetish thread on Reddit. Right up there with the wonder bread guy.

As someone living in the U.S., yes please, let the floods take me, I am tired of existing.
